(Update: Jan21st available) in between the middle - RX 5600/XT benchmarks found

williamcll

It is not known if it will follow the RX 5500 where the consumer model will carry the XT name and have same specifications as the OEM model.

Quote

We have confirmed with multiple sources that AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT will sport 6GB GDDR6 memory. Entries of such SKU have been discovered in the 3DMark database by a leaker from Reddit. The specifications listed there align with what we know about this upcoming Navi SKU. The card allegedly features 12 Gbps memory chips. All entries discovered by rogame also feature 12 Gbps memory (1500 MHz clock). The driver version (AMD’s) and memory count (6,144 MB) do not leave much room for speculation, it must be AMD’s RX 5600 XT, as the manufacturer has not really launched a 6GB card in years. What else could it be? According to the data, the RX 5600 XT would have a GPU clock somewhere between 1593 MHz and 1624 MHz. These results put Radeon RX 5600 XT very close to Radeon RX Vega 56 and GeForce GTX 1070 Ti.

AMD is epected to announce Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card at CES 2020.

Thoughts: Would have been nice if they had released this card earlier, the market is still choked full of GTX 16 series cards and this card will take a long time to beat Nvidia's grasp.

Meh, those low end cards do nothing for me,  I understand there's a market for them though as a lot of the more popular games are obviously made to run on the most common denominators,  so yay, I guess?

Y u no release 5900XT?  You've already sent Intel reeling, where is second blow in your one-two punch?  We haven't seen confirmed pricing but competing with a 1660ti/super won't mean a bunch if the pricing sucks as much as the 5500xt.

Still nothing that would make me interested in an upgrade from my 980ti. A lot of really good midrange cards being released in that performance bracket but nothing special yet. Maybe the 5800 or the 5900 will yield more interesting results. Any ideas on pricing?

That's an F in the profile pic

Sadly AMD has realized that they have limited 7nm dies so when it comes to the big die sized high end products they can make much more money selling them as Epyc and Threadripper CPUs.... rather than gaming GPUs which need to priced competitively with geforce.

Hopefully in 2020 as 7nm capacity increases AMD will no longer have to choose between markets.

I don't see how a faster card would be more interesting, going by the 5x00 series up to now it will cost the same while performing the same as Nvidia options, so nothing really interesting(assuming that it would have similar feature set, aka RT and some extras). Unless Nvidia lowers their prices or AMD decides to actually try to force Nvidia to do so, I can't see the GPU market getting interesting(for me) any time soon.

Hopefully this one is not exclusive for pcie 4 like RX 5500XT favor pcie 4 over pcie 3.

It doesn't favor PCIe4, PCIe3 x8 is a bottleneck on the 4GB model when games need more than that and require to access system memory, if it was PCIe3 x16(almost the same bandwidth as PCIe4 x8) it wouldn't have as many problems, just like the 1650S doesn't have it. It seems like it was a simple fuck up by AMD, they "forgot" that if they are going to sell the 560 successor for $150 it probably should also have at least some of the features from the 570 added.

i'd love to see a 5900/5900XT card, but then i fear for the price since the 5700XT costs between 400 and 500 euro here in italy

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

Someone tested RX 5500XT on pcie 4 and pcie 3 motherboards and discovered RX 5500XT performed much better on pcie 4 than pcie 3.

Im reading a lot of problems with rx5700s using pcie4 and ppl having to switch uefi settings from auto to pcie3. I had issues with a couple of games that wont run with my a 5700. I do not have pcie4 so I dont think thats the problem.

It is weird along with the new 2020 buggy driver. AMD needs to step up in GPU department.

Its very annoying. 1 of my games locks up my pc while a vr game displays this bizarre double image on my rift headset. I dont have pcie 4 so I dont think thats why

It will take another 2 years for AMD to perfect 2020 driver. ?

Well, if this becomes problamatic, I will return my rx 5700 and use my rx570...had no issues with that card...

Well, your problem is driver issue, I think. 2020 driver is not stable. Maybe you should rollback to the last 2019 driver to test?

Im not sure if I can find the driver...I just unboxed and installed the gpu last night and there is nothing for it to roll back to.

I read about issues back in July with 5700's...was the 2020 driver rolling out back then?

I am not sure but I got my 1st 2020 driver for my RX 590 this month December.

That's because PCIe4 x8 = PCIe3 x16 so when at PCIe3 x8 the card becomes bandwidth starved if the game require more than 4GB, as a example the 8GB don't show the same improvement by using PCIe4 and neither do the 1650 Super show the problems the 5500XT 4GB have, as it uses PCIe3 x16. As far as I know that was the conclusion on the original PCGH article and also HUB conclusion on their tests.

Me too with my old rx 570 but I ran ddu before installing my 5700. Im going to try this optional update. If all else fails, try to find the 2019 drivers.

If the 2020 drivers are the first drivers to be installed, how do I roll back? Is amd still offering the 2019?

So RX 5700Xt in pcie 3 performs less than on pcie 4?

AMD site no longer show the last 2019 driver. I too want to roll back because I can't use AMD freesync on 2020 driver. AMD Freesync is broken in 2020 driver. AMD removes Framerate Cap in 2020 driver. The new 2020 driver is a bloatware. You have a browser inside the driver. AMD Anti Lag feature makes this annoying "beep" sound if you have it enable, and every time you open a game. The second 2020 driver is no better. I asked some in AMD reddit community and got the feedbacks 50/50.

So thats what the beeping is! Lol. It was beeping at the beginning of every oculus game, (thats really the only games I play) it was so annoying
