ByteDance makes first smartphone

Tik Tok parent company ByteDance has just announced their very first smart phone. Call The Nut Pro 3, it comes with,

with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. The display features a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has a waterdrop style notch that houses the selfie camera. The primary camera array consists of a Sony IMX586 48MP f/1.75 sensor paired with a 13MP 1.12um ultrawide angle camera with a 123° FOV. There is also an 8MP telephoto camera and a 5MP macro camera.

Smartisan says they added an algorithm that intelligently corrects distortion when using the ultrawide angle camera. The selfie camera is a 20MP Samsung 3T1 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 1.8um pixel size. The hardware is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 9V/2A and 5V/3A fast charging. And no, there's no headphone jack. Curiously enough, there's no NFC either. There's no word on what version of Android it will run, but I wouldn't bet on Android 10.

 

Price will be 2,899 yuan (about $412.), and will be sold in the Chinese market.

I actually like the design, and a lot of the spec are actually quite nice.

Hopefully that fast charging is simply an error...that's...not fast by any means.
