Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

Junkitron has joined Folding Month! With only a 1050Ti to work with, it's not going to be a bruiser, but this does now mean that I have two PCs in the house contributing!

What is a mad scientist but a wizard who writes things down?

I think my PC deserves that name. Intel Q8300, 4 GB Ram, No GPU.

my pc locked up at around 4am, just rebooted it.

Donno why, i suspect the windows KVM locked up first, maybe through some issue with memory allocation and host machine access inter core numanode... idk i might try it again when i get home and run it for a few hours before i sleep

Something is off here. PPD dropped about 400-6k estimated, card running 4-8c cooler, using less wattage (145ish v 195ish) and only being used for 65%. Figured out that is fan speed. dumb me

What could cause this? Had no errors overnight besides a 0 point report on EoX.

I got rid of my +500 mem clock oc yesterday and dropped core clock 1 step. —> Not Being Fully Utilised... ?

image.thumb.png.9936622d56f0db8ff2f331d1baff3659.png

Rebooted the system, after that all was normal (figured this out after posting the above post)

Now I got home again and its back to using 140w v 195w and PPD dropped 500k again to 1M PPD

I am currently on the same project as this morning (14220) and wonder if this might be related to the project?

Had two 0 updates today on EoX too, which I didnt have before (lately)

Card temps have dropped to 57C again from the usual 64C ish range. --> which points to me card not being fully utilised.

If anyone is experiencing similar issues or knows a solution for this - thanks in advance.

I'm a grown-ass man and that's how I Lego to this day. If I want to build and display, I'll get a freaking model (of which I also have many).

Oof I still need to work on my ships. Right now my U-Wing and Y-Wing and some other sets are in pieces, may tear down the walker and X-wing I have for more parts or keep them on display. I'm kind of a blend, I mostly collect Star Wars vehicles, sometimes Lego City trucks and such if they have ones that look good or have tracks. I display some, others I tear down for parts but I haven't worked on my current MOC (sort of an overbuilt fighter thing) for a good while. I do have one set that is 100% display only, it will never be torn down. Tis the UCS Slave I, but to be fair that's basically Lego's version of a model.

On the folding front, aaaaalmost into the top 400, and I'm hitting over 1.3m with my 1660 Ti, 1050 Ti, and RVII:

I do game though so the RVII isn't going 24/7 like the 1660 Ti and 1050 Ti are. Also tend to shut down my main rig at night since it's on a watercooling loop and I'm somewhat paranoid about leaks while I sleep (even though I've never had a leak on any of the 3 builds I've done with EK's ZMT soft tubing).

Yea, I found one of the city sets but sadly by the time the parents got back to me on it I already sent the gift up. Guess I'll use the VIP card with free shipping option for Christmas and maybe drive the parents even more insane by getting something like this (they also have 2 cats)

I've had two slots stalled downloading and another two REALLY slow downloads. 30m for the 1st and the second took 43 minutes. While the second was chugging along had another slot finish, connect to the same server and download a WU in the usual 10s

Dang, tried to start this morning before I left for work but only the 980 was folding while the 1080Ti was doing diddly squat. I'm off tomorrow so I'll figure out the problem then and start for the month.

Yeah looks like the download bug is back. I only figured it out because I was freezing this morning when I woke up and then realized my 1080ti was doing nothing. So not only did I lose all those points but I also have to be cold. They've gone too far this time.

Ooooooooooo that's a hella fine collection! The normal U-Wing, Obi's fighter, and Falcon look hilariously small compared to the UCS sets though, lmao. My collection isn't nearly as big but I still need to get a proper shelf for it at some point, lol. Only UCS set I have is the Slave I, rest are normal sets.

Also very sad to not see any LAATs, I was never able to afford them when I was a kid and now that I'm an adult with a job, Lego doesn't sell them anymore ?. I am hella glad they brought back the AT-AP (IIRC, it's the 3 legged one) walker with Gree, that was a kit I ogled over in the Lego magazines we got around holidays when I was younger. Also grabbed the normal T-65 X-Wing as soon as they brought that back (they only had the newer T-70s for a good while, but they don't match my U and Y wings). Hopefully LAATs will return at some point.

Is there a way to fix it? I'm not sure what @Gorgon means by "connecting to the same server."

Its the way folding hands out work units there is an assignment server a work server and a collection server. This seems to be a problem with the connection speed of the work server for you to download the WU's from. So by resetting the assignment server is simply connecting you to another work server to get the WU from to process. There isn't a fix currently but they were throttling the effected work server so that not as many people would connect to them until they solved the problem but it looks like its not solved yet.

Gotcha, I'll check it out later to confirm if it is the download bug. I only played around with it for ~10 mins this morning so I can't be certain.

Hm... i am rank 24 now... do I inverst 500$ to get further up.. thinking about second Radeon VII. And yes I know gaming perf is meh nowadays for the price but I do work with calculations similar to F@H. Also the 16Gb VRAM is a HUUUUGE bonus for my programs (statistical physics)

See my post above. My card seems to kick in a different state on these projects. Temps drop 6-8C, power consumption drops from 190w to 145w and daily PPD drops to 1M from 1.5M.

Had the same same situation this morning and was the same project. Came back home today and it’s back there again. A reboot this morning fixed it. But haven’t encountered this issue before

I’m not sure but looking at what my ppd so far today I’m way below normal. Haven’t even produced 500k points with a 2070 today (13h period)

Really frustrating this.. can’t keep rebooting the system as I’m on uni most of the day. Also kinda wanna know why this is happening..

Just went to my pc and ...

Project 14220 is finished and its back to its normal values / temps / power consumption.

So I think it might be related to that specific project.

Looking at your stats, you might be OK, in the next checkpint I think you will get a good amount, and youll get 1m+

Mine is currently shoing less PPD from 2.2m to 1.6m but i just ignore it as its not accurate

I'm at work so I don't have access to HFM to look at my recent stats for it.

A quick peek at the current jobs, however shows it's running on 4 slots:

2070 Super 1.51MPPD with a Time per Fold (TPF) of 2:01.

2070 Super 1.51MPPD with a TPF of 2:00

2060 Super 1.31MPPD with a TPF of 2:14

1060 6GB 500kPPD with a TPF of 4:13

All these are within what I would consider average to slightly above average performance for these GPUs

The Project List shows it as having 15,941 atoms so it is big enough that it likely will use all the Cuda cores you can throw at it.

Ahh - OK so 1.5MPPD on your 2070 is quite respectable as the Supers should be faster.

Take a look through your logs as you might have been hitting the server with really slow downloads which will make your card sit idle
