Spectrum Mobile is terrible!

Evets

Don't ever use Spectrum, especially Spectrum Mobile.  Their tech support is incompetent.  They are just as likely to give you

damaging advice as helpful.  After their damaging advice no accountability.  I guess they figure they are too big and powerful

screwing over a few people is just part of doing business.

I have spectrum internet too, because I have no other choice.

Don't even get me started on how absolutely horrible Spectrum is... They essentially have a monopoly here in Lexington, KY - Our local government has recently begun looking into some of their business practices amid countless complaints from customers regarding poor service and absurd rates. They promote, "No contract" and "low introductory pricing" yet gradually increase your bill every 6 months hoping you don't notice. We only use their internet service and when we started, it was $45 a month...2 years later, we pay $74 a month. I even called and threatened to cancel and was essentially laughed at by the CSR because he knew we had no other options. We live in a subdivision and you can forget about streaming anything during 'peak' hours between 5-7 pm. They have been a constant headache for my wife and I, unfortunately, there are no other viable options where we live...

Now they have sales reps harassing people at local Wal Mart stores here in Lexington. Whenever they ask me whether we have Spectrum, I respond with a very audible, "Yeah, unfortunately" while I walk away.

Comcast is the same way. So dont think Spectrum is a special case.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Its sadly the case in a lot of the US as the government has encouraged monopolies.

The UK has its issues but fortunately our government FORCED our main telco to share their network, so we have tons of competition and thus you get to choose what quality of service you want.

We still have issues with rural areas getting the short straw, but every country has that problem as its so expensive to roll out fast broadband to those areas, as you can't get a return on your investment.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
