So as someone who has studied and is currently working in the 3D printing industry this LinkedIn article really looks interesting. Still waiting on getting the whitepaper that goes along with this but man this is really cool. Would be amazing to see this go head to head with something from EK thats made from traditional extrusion moulding and Skiving , I think tech Jesus - GamersNexus did a video when visiting some of the factories in China. I think the USP here is a reduction in size if anything. So if this gets picked up by the boys in the studio then the performance would have to be measured against volume. Galvanic corrosion is another factor as well

Really interesting!

As a person that has worked with 3D printers, I've always thought of things that 3D printing could be integrated into things. Of course, I'm not going to getting this any time soon, but I really want to see more 3D printed or partially 3D printed hardware.

For mass production it would probably be horrible but for prototyping or one offs it would be amazing.

I need performance numbers before I'm getting any exited. And I doubt EK will be the one to take the step if its actually good, they seem more than happy with doing copy pasta and not moving anywhere

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Pretty cool concept.  It is nice seeing more metal 3d prints happening, rather than just a couple NASA parts, part of the Koenigsegg turbo, and parts of GE jet engines.

Well that's not true, many of the 3D printed metal parts in rockets and aircraft have conformal fluid cooling channels running through them. If they wish to smooth surface for better laminar flow they just extrude hone them.

You're taking my comment entirely out of context here. I was specifically talking about this example shown above.
The resolution of the print is clearly low compared to it's milled & extruded counterparts.

 

Which is reinforced by the fact the manufacturer refused to forward a side-cut of the cooler.
