But is it still faster than 3900x? I doubt it will be faster than 3900x.

of course it's faster, I think 3950X still runs 3.8-4GHz in these "weak" (by 3950x standards) boards?

Hardware Unboxed didn't mention the clockspeed on these b450 boards he tested on 3950x.

Cinebench R20 scores are shown and mentioned. If they can be inline with the Aorus Xtreme, they must be running similar clocks as well

Depends on how high your CPU can go when receiving 1.25V, silicon quality is still a thing

Can someone help me understand this a bit better? I am planning on building a new PC, and I was going to get the Asus B450 Strix-F to go with a Ryzen 5 3600. Is this Tier list saying that's a bad idea, or is it just that it's not going to be good for an upgrade later?

There is something, in which ASUS is also inferior to MSI on B450 boards: BIOS. ASUS is not simple, "dummieproof", whereas MSI BIOS is easy to understand and navigate. : )

OH you run it at stock? Then even that Gigabyte ITX board could do, just expect say 3.8GHz instead of 4 or 4.1

I got a z370 fatality gaming k6 with a 8600k,im thinkin into upgrading to a 9900k this christmas,would this be ok with maybe a fan on the VRMs?

what is the best (and affordable) x570 for a 3600/3600x? 

I don't like to go with b450 tomahawk...I prefer a better audio codec and compatibility

Get a PCIe sound card, if not external USB ones. ALC887 is in theory worse than ALC1220 but they are nothing compared to even internal sound cards

cheapest will be X570-P, if you don't mind the $100 board-like rear I/O

and what do you think about the b450 pro carbon? It has the 1220 codec and is also for ryzen 3000 (bios or native)...I don't know if it will support 3600 mhz ram tough,,

I've seen the Tomahawk do 3600MHz so the Carbon should be capable of the same
