These numbers dont mean anything to actual amps they can push because at max output, they produce silly amounts of heat at that point that isnt feasible on a motherboard. They are comparitive though

Check the board manual, sometimes ports are disabled when you use the M.2 slot.

Yes, all 6Gbps. I dont think there are slower ones on modern boards you'd want to buy anyway

What you said tells me you havent looked it through. You cant just focus on chipsets that are expensive as a whole like X570.

You didn't bother to note what specific things you're trying to measure.  This list measures VRM ( from the perspective of "facts, ranked on power delivery and known problems" to quote Luke's statement at the top of the list, something you should have already read...), so if the board makes it to a high tier, it has superior VRM.  The end.

 

If you want someone to detail line by line all the features and qualities one could possibly hope to measure about that product, go look at a review of the motherboard... Duh.

In US Market the Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X has the same tier VRM for a lot less.  Unless you need some other feature you may actually have other options well within that budget since a pro carbon right now is about a $194 board.

that's also a reason why I took over, because the mosfets (same number of them powering the CPU cores on the Gaming X and Gaming Pro Carbon) are just straight up better on the Carbon

I don't live in the US, but anyway i found a gigabyte z390 aorus pro just slightly more expensive than the pro carbon so i guess i'll just buy that one instead.

Hi Jurrunio, your posts here have been excellent. Factual and clear. Thank you. I have decided to forgo the MSI B450 carbon or x570 with fan to get the Tomahawk Max and a pci-e (or usb) sound card. Do you have a favourite model?  Many of the Creative and Asus I found on search appear to be very old models.  Amazon has some sort of 20% off coupon going today, so I am ready to get one.  Thanks in advance!

So you are ok with basic chips like the ageing Realtek 892 on the Tomahawk and similar boards?  It actually just struck me that I can use my Focusrite Scarlett USB audio interface as a sound card, which would be an improvement. It seems the Realtek 8111H LAN should be fine until I upgrade to 10GB card someday, probably several years in the future.

 

Thanks again for helping everyone to focus more on the VRMs and I/O as everything else can be solved with additional hardware, but those two things are fixed (well sure, you could get a pci-e card for more USB ports, but who wants to do that?)

I cant hear any difference between that and the ALC1220, guess I need a surround sound setup for that

All current draw figures are based on Prime95 small FFT with AVX unless otherwise specified, in other words the worst case scenario. Zen scales down frequency and voltage according to EDC (current limit) and TDC (thermal limit) settings of the motherboard so in theory you won’t cook the VRM of any board at stock, you just lose frequency.

the b450 aorus elite

the b450 gaming plus max

that's what i get in my contry available Because we don't have many models of mb in my country

and our pc parts prices is somewhat expensive

with the price of gaming plus max i can get a tomahawk max but we don't have it now
And also tell me which is better for stability, overclocking, vrm and cooling in vrm
i mean what is the maximum cpu that can run it without temperatures problems

@M.R_KING gaming plus max is better for performance. Stability depends on software so keeping those updated matters, not the board itself (but includes the board's BIOS, which is its software).

In list motherboard from MSI have different category but all MB have the same VRM. I writing about Z370 Krait Gaming, Z370 Tomahawk, Z370 SLI Plus

you mean the power of motherboard of handling the cpu

or you mean updating the bios when updates coming

BIOS and drivers. Dont use "monitoring" software like NZXT CAM or Asus Armour Crate if you can help it as well
