Corsair vs GSkill ram?

Which ram in your opinion is better I have Gskill 3200 but am getting 4 ll120 white fans to go with my white 570x case them. What should I get (3200 ram). Or should I just get 2 more sticks of gskill ram?

You should get the exact same ram you got last time. One brand is not better than the other, but you should minimize issues.

It is always advised to match RAM specs as closely as possible. This includes speed, capacity per stick, and manufacturer.

 

Say (this is not the case, but lets pretend) GSkill used Micron for its RAM, and Corsair used Samsung. The system would likely be unstable or quit posting all together.

Just more Gskill to match the looks. Their performance will be the same if the rated speeds are the same.

Whichever is cheaper is better. But if you are adding RAM get the exact kit you already have. Mix and match is not advised. 

 

Both are grade A DRAM brands, I have owned Ripjaws 4 and V kits, and Corsair Vengeance, Vengeance LPX, and Vengeance LED. The only kit I ever had an issue with is my Vengeance LED, luckily I got a new kit for free via Corsairs RMA process.

no that hasn't been the case since ddr2 systems can be perfectly stable mixing 2 or more brands of ram  its just the performance goes to what ever the lowerst performing stick is still stable and posts fine

I'm not sure where you got this information but it is a poor generalization to make...

 

Though tolerances on RAM may be looser (and they are), you can't just say that any two sticks will just work.

lol yes i can thats how the ddr3 and 4 standard work im currently mixing 4 brands in my main pc 3 in my secondary pc and 4 again in my gaming server. it only matters if your trying to get high ram clocks. now back in the ddr2 days when it couldnt just downclock the faster one there were tons of issues and thats when you had to worry about it

Its also ingenuine to state personal experience as fact without proper research.

 

I have also mixed DDR3 RAM in systems. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

Multiple times but not often...

 

On the times where another stick of a different brand (same spd/timing) won't make it boot.

Yet each single stick works in multiple systems, but certain systems it just won't boot with the combination I wanted.

 

So I switch the combination with other spares.

point being.... It still happens to random systems beyond the working ones..

 

Likely a fault of one of the sticks but not exactly worthless if it still works elsewhere.

 

Annoying but it has happened to me..

However rare.

I have personally had slightly better luck with Corsair than with G Skill, mainly in the cheaper RAM, but both are good. Have GSkill 3000 in my current system that will not make it 3200 no matter what I throw at it, without just chucking the timings out the window. Had corsair 3200 lpx in it previously, was rated at 3200 and ran 3600 with really decent timings.

 

Only gave up the Corsair because I had bought the GSkill for a 2400G system I built for my nephews and the it wouldn't run stable at anything above 2133, with any amount of tweaking, but the corsair runs 3200 with rated timings without issue, with the CPU at 4Ghz and the IGP at 1475mhz, on air, albeit good air.

Most likely any CL14 3200mhz kit is going to be Samsung B-Die meaning the actual ram chips on the sticks will be the same. Having said that, for simplicity sake, I would highly recommend getting 2 more of the exact same sticks, just in case, to prevent your motherboard from possibly spazing out with a mixture.
