Opinion on 14 Year Old With $3000 Setup?

The_Edster

If you paid for it then it's fine.

Good for you for saving up $3000

If you didn't pay for it, then you have nice parents.

Have you already bought the PC?

I first bought it 2 years ago and have been upgrading it since, there is hardly any hardware left that is the original build. My 1 monitor eventually progressed to 3.. Haha

I have a job and earned all the money myself over 2 years of work at my local restaurant.

It is a bit overpowered and overkill. I would go with a 1200$ build and save the rest.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

it was easier for me to ask my parents for a computer for 2 years continuously compared to me asking about a car.. (car would probably have been cheaper all up lol)

For three years now.

Quote me to get a reply!

i don't really care bout the parents or the money, what i really care about is the 14 year old kid.

with such fortune in his belonging comes great responsibility, and for a 14 year old kid having things that can literary change the world is like a random stranger defusing a bomb that is inside the white house.

When 2 things meet each other, Quantum stuff happens.

There is nothing wrong with the 14 year old using their money to purchase a $3000 computer. I do not think it is wise, a less expensive build would be preferable, but it is fine. The parents just need to guide a young person on making this decision, not make it for them.

$3000 for those parts seems a bit high?

3000 was for the whole setup (desk, monitors, keyboard etc.), the pc was around 1700

To be honest its fine but only if they knew what they were buying and not just buying parts because of the price.

Oh whoops, Intel core i7-3770k

Why a 3770k instead of a 4770k?

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Desktop: i5-4670k - 8gb 1600MHz - MSI 7850

Laptop: i7-4810QM - GTX 870m - 8gb RAM
