You think the iPhone battery life is too short, the only solutions to that problem are bigger batteries or a battery that never needs to be charged which are simply unrealistic goals. Making the iPhone thicker for a bigger battery also has marginal gains. The XR is one of the thickest iPhones to date and its battery is only an hour better than the XS.

Thickest since the iPhone 5C and previous. For reference. And the XS when it launched first was ALSO the thickest since the iPhone 5C.

But yeah .5mm difference, with a thicker back-plate (due to the material change). 10% battery capacity increase. Not sure if the LCD is thicker or thinner than the OLED.

I don't necessarily think the iPhone battery life is too short. I'm saying that for the price you pay (anywhere from £749 to £1449) these types of battery cases shouldn't need to exist. I'm saying that this case is another unnecessary thing. Unless you're constantly glued to your phone, I see no reason why these should exist.

I think Apple are just asking people to shell out another £129 for something that 90% of users don't need.

At the end of the day, it's down to opinion. Everybody can decide on if they like something or not.

And those 90% of people won't buy it. Very simple.

Honestly if Apple sell so many of these that its a sucessful product, that tells me their is room in the market for an iPhone XL and just make it have the same spec with double the battery size it might be a slightly thicker phone.

But there is always a market for people who know that 24 hours isn't enough battery for them.

People run around with Plus models knowing they are nearly tablets in their pocket, they take the trade off for the bigger screen.

I mean I'm running around with an s9+, and actually recommend devices of that size to people most of the time. It makes the device dramatically more usable for things like reading books, and the battery life gain from plus sized models is very awesome. The biggest downside becomes if you are a woman who doesn't sew actual pockets into your clothing, but even then, most normal phones are of a size where that becomes annoying.

I wouldn't go much bigger though, since that then becomes an accessibility problem.

-= Moved to General Discussion =-

While this is a stimulating conversation this subject is not News.

Its a revision of an old product with no new features or design, just re-release for the new model of phone.

One thing I don't get though.

Why are they insisting on the hump design when it was countlessly ridiculed when it was first released for the iPhone 6s?

Notice how the design has barely deviated since the iPhone 6 as well? That's why you're not seeing the design changed. They really don't have much of a design team at all right now (either that or they are utterly oblivious).

I'll just get the Mophie one tbh, if I really had to choose.

I'm sorry, but that hump is just so awkward, especially on something that has a bitten apple on it

Since Apple updated the design and is selling it then people are buying the case, it's that simple. All of the "but my phone lasts all day i don't care this isnt news" comments doesn't mean a phone lasts all day for everyone, and perhaps some want their phone to go for more than a day without plugging it in.
