RTX2050 leak?

A new graphics card featuring 896 CUDA Cores, 14 SMs, 4GB of video memory and a maximum frequency 1,560 MHz has appeared in the GeekBench database as revealed by renowned leaker TUM APISAK. This rumored GPU has only been identified as a “Graphics Device” created by the Nvidia Corporation, but it safe to assume it’s built upon the Turing architecture and it will likely be the new GTX 1050 (Ti) replacement as it only features 4GB of video memory.

It also seems that our mystery GPU scored 114,206 points in OpenCL that’s remarkably higher than the existing GeForce GTX 1050 Ti’s result of around 84,000 points.

 

Personal thought:

I don't know if an entry card can really run RTX tbh... Even 2070 is having a hard time to run RTX. I guess we better hope the 11 series rumours are real or we entry guys are all paying more for nothing.

sweet, really want there to be a follow up to the 1050TI, but seeing as the prices for the RTX cards have been a pile of steaming shit its probably going to be more expensive than its worth

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

It's probably a GTX and not an RTX if rumours are true that they're reserving the 'RTX' prefix for their premium products with RT Cores.

 

Anyway, they need good mid-tier cards to get their traction going for 2019 so it should be logical they shouldn't hold back great value and performance products for mainstream users.

 

How else are they gonna recover until Q3 2019?

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

Well do we know if there will be any other differences between RTX and GTX, other then RT cores? (Also can RT cores be used in other applications to boost performance)
Cause I could see Nvidia segmenting their GPUs even further, kinda like a Titan vs a __80Ti.

Even if the RT cores aren't being used for gaming, I doubt AutoCAD, Blender or Adobe will perform anywhere near smoothly using Ray Tracing. Cards like the 750, 950 and 1050 have all been budget-oriented cards for light 1080p gaming.

Ray Tracing on a card bearing the xx50 numbering scheme will most likely be a horrendous experience. 

I'd imagine it'll be a GTX 1150.

Remember when Anti Aliasing first released? x2 cut framerate by 40% and x4 cut by 70%. Now you can enable x16 on any modern card without it heavily impacting preformance.

 

RTX is going to be the same way, it will be heavily optimized in the future to not affect performance when enabled.

To be honest, I'm not sure that's gonna happen with the 2060 assuming that Nvidia sticks with 12nm for it.

 

If it was 7nm then I could see that happening but not at their current node.

recover what?  They are certainly looking at pumping out a lot of mid tier cards, I'm guessing they are anticipating some serious competition there from AMD, but I don't know exactly what they need to recover from.

Ahh, definitely flooding the market with new chips.  I still think it's in anticipation of something from AMD.  But let's be honest, it could also be that they have just had a really good run on the fab side and want to capitalise before AMD gives consumers another option.

 

Either way I don't think they are too worried about the stock price, the nasdaq and the dowjones took a nose dive in December. It wasn't anything specifically related to nvidia so there isn't much they can do to fix it.   The market nearly always comes back, so Nvidia will come back with it.

Either way I don't think they are too worried about the stock price, the nasdaq and the dowjones took a nose dive in December. It wasn't anything specifically related to nvidia so there isn't much they can do to fix it.   The market nearly always comes back, so Nvidia will come back with it.  

true that. media captalized on Nvidia losses but as soon as I replied to your previous comment I was checking on AMDs stock and same nose dive. Could be tho that both of them rode the crypto-train that's why intel's hit wasn't affected much.

How I plan my builds -

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

There are a lot of tech media and forums claiming that, but I think the reality is Intel just isn't as effected as much because they are like an old dinosaur in terms of volatility.    If you look at their stock performance over the last decade it is no where near as choppy or volatile as nvidia, AMD, Apple or many of the others.  The closest company to Intel in terms of stock stability are MS, largely for the same reason, they are really big,  aren't effected by sneezes, meltdown and spectre had no effect on intel and the court cases concerning IE in the EU had no effect on MS.  In fact Xbox being a poor performer right now and their phone line being dead in the water also has had no effect.
