Quad SLI Titans running 3X 4k screens (console fanboys need not apply)

Fruitbooter

Sooo...out of curiosity, what was the original title of this topic? I'm kinda curious to know what could have spawned 7 pages of console vs. PC crap that had nothing to do with the original post.

"suck it, consoles" Or something very similar, as noted by the last thing said in the video.

It was actually 'Dear consoles..."Suck it!"

A lot of people took offence...clearly the PC masterace needs to do some recruiting on this forum to even out the numbers.

That was a joke too btw before the flames get lit.

Now look guys, at this time there is no, repeat no PC that can match the PS4  at it's current $399 USD Price tag. That right there may be a reason for someone to buy a console over a PC. Now I may not necessarily agree with that stance because in about a year, the case will almost certainly be different and favour the PC again, however, you guys need to just accept it and relax.

When you begin to consider the fact that you'll use a PC for more than simply a PS3 and the fact that it's user-upgradeable at will, as well as the flexibility to choose operating systems, it becomes a more attractive proposition, slight price increase be damned. I would not be typing this post on a PS4. But thank you for proving everyone wrong about consoles with your concrete, inarguable, scientific fact.

Yes, the PS4 is $400, and yes, you'll be hard-pressed to find a system that can really beat it out in terms of pricing. And hardly anything else. The debate against consoles is just as valid as the ones for it. I veer on the side of pro-PC, but I'm not a dick about it. If someone owns a console, they probably wanted to play Infamous or something on it - and thanks to the desire for exclusives, something I feel is an outdated practice, the consoles will have an advantage over PCs in that regard.

This reminds me of the argument between McDonald's and a fancy restaurant. For a few dollars, you could get a cheap, greasy sandwich, salty fries and sugary soda. But if you pay a little bit more, you can have a far nicer and fulfilling meal. It's up to the person buying whether or not they want to settle for the McDonald's meal (and in fact, they might actually prefer McDonald's). Perhaps the comparison is not 200% perfect and can be ever so slightly debated on its own, but the point is clear.

Now, enough of the consoles and PC wars. I dislike consoles. I will not buy one. Someone else likes them. They buy it. The world keeps spinning and the NSA keeps spying on us.

Why? There are so many other racing games on PC to play. Forza isn't that realistic you know.

I know (I have ACR, looks good and it's realistic) but I really like Forza 5. The way it's set up, and the way you play, customize the cars, and so on.

This is also proving some of the consolers' point, that PC gaming is expensive as balls.

No, it's not. You can build a perfectly capable gaming PC for the price of an Xbox One. When you add in the game prices, it will be significantly cheaper over time.

The desktop APUs aren't quite as powerful as console APUs. He actually has something of a point.

You're still getting better (and much cheaper) games, a better community, upgradability, and the ability to do other things besides play games and watch netflix.

I am a PC elitist.

But I kinda like it when ac console peasant, just calls you out on it and says consoles are better. Hypocrisy much?

I have PS3, only reason is for DBZ and MGS games, because I am a DBZ and MGS fanatic.

But I can understand how PC is better in every way.

First of all, you will never play a game on "max" graphics on a console. Also MOST games are not even 1080p, they are 720p and upscaled. Good example is CoD: Ghosts.

You can actually have an enjoyable multimedia experience on a PC and browse the web easily without any awkward menu or console typing.

PC can also be played from the couch.

The potential and the future upgrades in a PC is vastly superior.

Porn on a PC is easier.

STEAM (This should be more than enough to to pick PC over any console)

That computer is built by monkeys without a clue as to what they're doing.

The NVidia GTX Titan is prohibitively expensive, and it's not the best gaming GPU available as it was always more of a semi-gaming-semi-workstation GPU. Throwing two of them together results in pretty great performance, throwing three of them together is overkill, throwing four of them together is flat-out stupid. Why didn't they opt for 2 or at the most 3 GTX 780 Ti cards? It would've performed better and been considerably cheaper. Having more than 16GB of RAM is pointless unless you are doing really memory-intensive work, gaming right now will never even take advantage of aforementioned 16GB. Hell, most of the time it doesn't take advantage of 8!

Also that case looks like it's made out of nursery-grade plastic. If I was to spend anything more than $3000 on a computer I wouldn't settle for anything short of the most amazing build quality and build materials available.

Yeah! Suck it consoles! Suck it for being so cheap in comparison to this obviously excellent computer. Suck it for remaining a viable gaming machine for longer than any gaming computer can. Suck it for not looking like a garish plastic kid's toy.

They probably had all those parts laying around and accessible so why not use them? I don't think it's fair to call them monkeys that don't know what they are doing.

A company does not just happen to 'have' enough GTX Titans lying around to put 4 of them into each computer. They have specifically obtained them just for this, I guarantee it.

You don't know that. They could have been using them for benchmarking or whatever. Don't insult them when you don't know their reasons.

They built a custom-designed case just to advertise the level of NVidia contained within. I somehow doubt they decided to just re-use GPUs they happened to have 'lying around' for benchmarking or any other purposes.

No-matter how they got the cards or why they used them, the end result is the same. Quadruple Titans in SLI, which is nonsense. As I said before, they're not the most powerful GPU any more. There are other GPUs available for substantially less cost which actually offer better performance, for example the R9 290X and the GTX 780 Ti. Having 2 or 3 of those cards in CrossFire / SLI would theoretically result in better performance and substantially lower cost.

Maybe they had the PC from an early time for a different showcase. Whatever the reason the point of the matter is you shouldn't call them monkeys that don't know what they are doing. You don't know their reasons, so why are so disrespectful?

Disrespectful? I'm talking about a company, I'm not making a personal attack on someone.

I am free to judge their actions or inactions in whichever way I please. If I refer to them as 'monkeys' I am being practically polite - if I wished to be disrespectful, elitist, condescending and rude I would instead refer to them as 'incompetent retards with a collective IQ of 30 and the aesthetic tastes of a spoon'. However my intention is not to be any of those things, and as such I did not make such a strong statement.

I do not need to know their reasons. They are a company who build computers, the particular computer that they have built here is completely absurd in my view, thus I will criticise them accordingly.

I don't think you understand how retarded monkeys are. Sure you have the right to judge someone by a computer they built for the purpose of being over the top and not having updated graphics cards. Just know that you sound childish.

Sigh.

I am making a comment on a company, not a personal attack against an individual. There is a very big difference between the two. You saying I sound childish is more of an insult than me referring to a company as 'Monkeys' in my eyes.

No-matter, let's stop this discussion. You don't like what I'm saying, I don't like what you're saying - let's just leave it there.

I imagine 12k gaming to eat a ton of Vram, therefore the quad Titans make a little more sense.

In theory, yeah. But as far as I'm aware, the Titans have neither the power or bus size necessary to properly take advantage of that VRAM in gaming.

I wonder how many gpu's would be needed so support 60+ fps on ONE 4K Monitor. I just wish that my one R9 290 could do this. haha aw well a boy can dream can he not?

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

So Wii U? Well at least you can make a case for that, because those games won't be on a emulator this year with higher res/AA.  ;)

We can talk about that.

Or we can talk about the numerous games that are exclusives, or games that are just better on consoles such as sports games (you usually have to have friends to enjoy having a group of people play one game).

Am I the only one who thinks that it doesn't look that great? It looks extremely unrealistic. It may be 12k but who cares if the graphics are kinda not great? Look at the grass, trees and road for example. The grass almost looks like a solid colour.

1080p camera (likely). I am sad he did not mention this, but it's always the same. On YouTube this looks garbage. In real life, it looks amazing and you wish you had the money for it to get it.
