Starting January 1st, 2021, we will be handing out awards based on new higher folding badge thresholds. These new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.    F@H Badge Thresholds In order to be rewarded with the Folding @ Home badge, please

Guys be advised that https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ is curratly not updating and as such the stats you see there are not accurate right now.

That's fine, because James just went from 1.8 weeks to 2.1 weeks :D But that could be a daily variable based on jobs done.

To remove the treat it would cost $100 roughly unless I can find a used unit for under $50 ?

It happens when some F@H servers are not updating, not sure as to the reason on F@H's side.

 

This can cause things like APIs to stop working, stopping people generating passkeys and seeing newly made profiles.

soo, i've been folding for roughly 48 hours straight now, but my folding page isn't updating with the points i should have earned. 

anyone else having this problem? is the server stuff on the F@H side still happening?

F@H server issues are still ongoing

this site updates every three hours, But it averaged your points over i think 14 or 30 days, so you will have to wait to see your average get up there.

We have seen an explosion in active folders recently gaining over 400 over the last week or so.

Just so you all know it seems F@H is having ongonig issues with the stats severs going down and coming back multiple times a day atm. 

 

Lets hope it sorts out for the event.

Does that affect the ability of the "server" to record your stats or just to display them?

I think I'm gonna hit a million points before getting 21 WUs... Guess I'll be going straight to a bronze badge! It's not like green is my favorite color or anything... that's ok I guess. I don't know how I have 750k with only 14 work units. Other people have like anywhere from 50 to multiple thousand.

I'm not certain but I believe it scales WU to your hardware, so if you have powerful hardware, you'll get 1 really big hard to compute WU that will give a lot of points, but if you have weak hardware, you'll get a small WU that has gives fewer points

This is pretty much how it works, they scale WU size to the power of your hardware using some kind of table I think.

@Ben QuigleyGreat News. Now once the stats settle a bit and the big updates fall off the tail end we can see what the change is in total production.

 

Perhaps we should start a separate thread for Issues getting Folding Working for folks joining the party and ask the mods to make it a stickie? Currently we have people posting issues in 3 or 4 threads.

no shout out as of yet, I have been shouting it from teh rooftops though. I've never seen this many active folders in all my time here.

 

as for the issues, naa leave it how it is, it keeps the section ticking over after all. Plus we dont want to many stickies.

Edit: Nope did nothing...

Double check your firewall settings. This is something I see when I lose internet connection so it sounds like something is blocking the send traffic.

For the event I think we will simply take the stat info from whatever is displayed at the start of the event and go from there if its not solved at that time. Should still work fine either way.

As was also said they definitely scale the size of WU's to your hardware and also a lot of people in the beginning either don't have or didn't know about passkeys.

Yes @Whiskers is definitely still active. Not sure what would take him a while to respond. But I wouldn't worry too much. Things have been very busy for us with the folding month event we are setting up.
