Here is 2/3 things I can see this in.

Atari Console (said to have PC experience)

High end Desktop APU / desktop Pro APU

I would love to see this on the AM4 socket if this is not a custom silicon for the Atari box.

REMINDER, The Atari console goes on preorder Dec 14, so we should know what AMD processor will be in it soon.

EDIT: Another note, The Ryzen Desktop APU line is called Ryzen Gaming, and this chip does seem like a great all in one gaming chip.

Spoiler

might be very powerful :)

core count and cu count match a RX470 , so if this goes into a 4c apu it would be a gtx1050ti/rx470D and a Ryzen 1200 in a single chip , something id very much welcome for a tiny tiny gaming build

I suppose so... well help people to drop Intel HD Graphics is always a good thing... I wish the i7 8700 didn't have that useless iGPU and gave us 7c/14t instead for the lulz.

I still tend to go more to a g4560 + 1050 ti route or such... used hardware deals and all before ever considering an APU... maybe they are just not very popular here in Brazil...

I believe i'm supposed to take offence to that since my main gpu is intel hd graphics 520 so I shall take offence to that and then give a rational(or atleast what I think would rational) so here we go

HOW DARE YOU!!!! I hath been offended, the intel hd graphics are the best of the best and I shalt make you pay for your offensive offense against me.

now then onto the ration part, while the intel hd graphics(520 in this case) are not the best and can definitely not play AAA games it does quite well in most indie and light games(and some bit more intensive games), it is great for most average consumers who only use it for web browsing and light gaming, it can do video editing, game dev, and a few other things adequately enough if your fine with waiting a few seconds for some things. While its not amazing it is good enough for most things.

Yay a fellow DDLC player, and yes I would love to have better performance(I actually will once Christmas comes, I got a pc with a gtx 1060 and I5 7400 during blackfirday) I am a techy and a lover of games afterall but my point still stand for the average person who doesn't play many games its a very capable igpu

And for those of us that can't feasibly use dGPUs, for whatever reason? Or those of us that use features that inly exist due to the iGPU?

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

It's like pairing an RX 580 with 10% more CUs with a Pentium or an i3 xD.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

it might seem silly but it got them to true 4k, with very little optimization needed. it also has DX API on chip to lower CPU utilization.

If the i7 8700k had this feature, a core in the place of the iGPU, then I'd actually find the absurd $ difference between the locked and unlocked chip could be justified specially nowadays that overclocking changes nothing (outside 1080p240hz)... truth be told I understand iGPU in the locked model yes but on the unlocked model nope 99% of people with it will get a dedicated GPU.

From the top of my head I can only think of QuickSync to give it any usefulness and even so having an extra core would help more for streaming and all regardless.
