Yeah, that's kinda why I want to shy away from luxury brands. But I think for me I could for sure do what I listed.

Mine would be the W204 C63 AMG Edition 502 Wagon. Really disappointed when I heard that the C63 won't be making an appearance in Gran Turismo Sport. It was my go to FR vehicle for Gran Turismo 5 and 6.

 

The Mitsubishi Evo 4 is my next choice. Again, I believe it was cut for Gran Turismo Sport, being my 4WD vehicle of choice for 5 and 6.

More pointless trivia-

 

My mechanics had one of the very few *factory* turbocharged DMCs in their workshop for a bit.

Blown engine naturally, as Delorean turbo'd the engine, but never fixed the initial issues (oil starvation from using a truck engine mounted at the wrong angle in a car)

But having said all that, the car has presence. I nearly bought it, blown engine and all, but ultimately passed and bought another Alfa Romeo (they are in my blood.)

Here's the problem.

 

Look up their engine, it was a truck engine pressed into service when the original Lotus engine wouldn't pass US emissions. That engine killed the car. It suffers from oil starvation and is generally not a correctable defect.

In addition, the (in the USA anyway) availability of fuel pumps was dependent on *which colour interiour you had*. If it was (IIRC) grey, you were okay, fuel pumps were available. If it was black, you were SOL, as DMC changed fuel pump configs during the production run, from one that was widely available to an in-house designed one.

You can see how that worked out for them (source: I had a gf who worked at a Volvo dealership, where they stocked the volvo-sourced grey-interiour pumps)

 

I have been talked out of a few cars by my mechanics over the years, the DMC12, and A Ferrari 328 were two that came readily to mind.

Both based on the ability to get parts, and the cost of said parts...

Parts were an absolute nightmare to obtain (duh, right?) but I had contacts in Cali that knew some people, who had the parts. Imagine, for example, paying a cool 4,000$ for stage 2 compeition springs.
