HTC codename Bolt (Next flagship) leaked with no Audio jack!

So HTC is allegedly working on the HTC codename Bolt device which looks sexy.

 

 

 

So you might ask what's wrong with it? The lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack......

Apple’s decision to remove the earphone jack on the iPhone seems to be catching on. We’ve heard rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S8 won’t feature the extension either. Rather, the Korean tech giant might utilize Type-C connectivity for audio extensions. The HTC Bolt will use similar features according to today’s information. Another company to remove the 3.5mm jack is Motorola, with the latest Moto Z launches. Other specifications for the Bolt are fingerprint recognition, a 5.5 inch FHD display and 3GB of RAM.

The rear camera for the device will have a resolution of 18MP and aperture width f/2.0. It’ll also be able to record at 4K. The front camera will feature an 8MP sensor and the device will carry 64GB of internal storage. Alongside Micro-SD support, the device will also offer HTC’s trademark BoomSound. BoomSound will only be supported through headphones though. Thoughts? Do you agree with company’s foregoing 3.5mm earphone connectivity for their devices? What do you think? The next phone I buy must have a headphone jack. I think removing the jack is very silly. I would be completely fine with removing the headphone jack if the company which made the phone provided my with a monetary compensation to buy Audiophile grade headphones with USB-C........

FFS. Please Jesus. I have $150 USD Sennheiser Headphones. Not cheap garbage. It's not easy for me to buy new $150 USB-C headphones and why should I?

You'll still be able to use the USB to 3.5mm adapter.

 

If true, this eliminates HTC as my upgrade next year.

BUT WHY SHOULD I? There is no justifiable reason why I can't use my nice headphones without an Adapter.

then don't buy a HTC  I am sure a c to 3mm adapter exists if not then there will be soon. Either way things change over time. USB-c for audio has the advantage of having a DAC inline for better sound quality.

and adapter isnt the best option for once its small and easy to lose you are basically wasting money if you are going to buy another one

I shouldn't need to buy an adapter since I have choice to buy phones with a headphone jack.

It's obviously where the industry is going, whether we like it or not. There are other manufacturers out there. Removing it makes sense, but not anytime soon. Imo they are rushing too soon out there. 

Here's to hoping for modular LG, which will have an option to have 3.5 if they remove it.
