Its reportedly pretty stable if Reddit is to be believed. Designed to take into account the COG of the wheel, but pedals are free floated. In any case the Ikea Poang chair always looked really comfortable and makes for a great budget setup in your living room!

This was kinda fun. Didn't expect them to throw in random historic weekends, though if you're a greenie like me you won't actually know that the older cars are in fact much slower, by a matter of seconds. I picked hte FW18 arbitrarily because it was villeneuve's car, but the MP4-13 is a matter of 3 seconds faster meaning I had no chance at the podium. Still decent pace meant I was solid midfield despite being in a sea of mclarens, and I was almost punted from behind but the codie's tires decided I had the instantaneous weight of a Leopard 2. I never really noticed it before but on a rapid change of direction like the esses at the redbull ring, its hard to predict a slide caused by weight transfer

and theres a momentary slush that you can only pray doesn't spin you off into the gravel. Different behaviour than if you spun up the rears on a curb, since that kicks out the back with immediate effect.

COVID has unfortunately put a halt to my 3d printing operation before it even got started but the design for rev 1.0 is very much in the home stretch. Got some prototype parts out at the very least but wont be getting into assembly until mid April at the earliest.

If you're interested I have Solidworks and can make up you designs with 100% accuracy. I made a shifter/handbrake plate to mount underneath my chair and it's absolutely perfect.

It wasn't the dimensional accuracy that failed the part, it was how it printed. The torsional stress is focused around a 3-4mm depth of plastic so I'm going to try printing it solid next time around, short of other more drastic measures.

Appreciate the offer though!

am reprinting the frontplate in black, and centered the logo.. had to narrow the mount to the fanatec because it was to wide, so the logo did not centralize.. and that annoyed me.. now it is fixed, and the bolt holes were without air for the bolts, so "kinda" stripped a bit of the alu thread (minor strippage) in the wheel, so the new ones have 6.5mm free holes, as pr iso standard.

but else it is okay.. a bit big the 7 inch... but i like it.

Is there an official thread/place to give feedback to the developer?

FFB feels a little bit weak for me, i wanna see if i can use Jackspade FFB settings from pCars2 later. You can but you shouldn't.

Graphic look worst compare to pCars2, probably just early access thing.
The sound is amazing.

Decided I didn't like the current iteration of the standalone 3d wheel so Im pivoting back to a traditional steering wheel button box with these new learnings. Hopefully looking to pick one of these up:

Scratch that, pivoted again because it's not feasible to find a flat faced steering wheel that's reasonably priced. Initially wanted an OMP trecento but the button spacing wouldnt be ideal.

Used the OMP ALU-GT as a base and designed a new faceplate to accommodate a much more compact profile. Handles will be open top like the R8 LMS wheel, ironically similar to how im using my AMStudio wheel at the moment. I fear there wont be enough backing material across the top of the hub to prevent flexing so im building it all into the bottom half and hoping for the best.

This is in effect a 70% replica of the real thing, as otherwise it wouldn't fit on a build plate with reasonable margin.

Minor update

image.thumb.png.42e803e92c7b53462df94abefa9dec25.png

Everything progressing well except for the actual grips, which I presume will resemble more coffee crisp bars than svelte italian hand grips, but oh well. The 100% wheel is meant for different buttons which are smaller meaning you could fit a display in the middle and three buttons on either side, but this 70% version and 12mm buttons don't allow for such luxuries. 8 buttons on the front face + 2 stealth buttons on the back should be plenty; the Bodnar can accommodate a few more buttons and none of the pots are occupied in this design.

edit: lol one of the LEDs isnt punched out, oops

I want to get a tiny screen like that just so I can plug it into my AVR so I don't have to play "Find Nvidia control panel" because it fucks up my triple screen setup every time.

BTW, if you ever want a model of that Fanatec shifter I got one ready to go.
