In other news making plans to visit Calabogie for the first time this summer for a time attack event, might as well put some effort into learning the place. Its actually kind of fun once you get the hang of it. Tricky elevation change and changing radius corners, though real life traits like the aggressive surface abrasion aren't modelled to the same extent. Very worthwhile mod to check out.

League race from this past Wednesday, heat 2. (reverse 3/4 of the finishing grid from heat 1 + additional fuel handicap for the top 5 from heat 1. I finished heat 1 in 2nd, so had to carry 40L of fuel for heat 2). Was in a great 3-way battle for the lead, pretty much the entire time. :)

Yeah for all its lacking, Ive come to love acc since the beta days. Good fun even if youre not alien fast. Do wish for more tracks tho (I say that as Ive been binging igtc)

COVID has unfortunately put a halt to my 3d printing operation before it even got started but the design for rev 1.0 is very much in the home stretch. Got some prototype parts out at the very least but wont be getting into assembly until mid April at the earliest. Still, using the time to get into f1 2019 and its a lot of fun - dare say more than 2015/16, which I never finished.

 

 

F2 is such an underutilized property. They're so much fun to drive once you get away from the mindset of high downforce and ERS. Pure spec formula racing, noticeably heavier handling like you would find in an IndyCar. 

 

Weekly race at Australia was about as messy as you'd think, took a few attempts to make a decent recording where I didn't spin into a wall in S3 or get yeeted into T1. Had decent midfield pace with these guys but damaged my front wing and suffered severe understeer in S2. Ultimately 2 seconds down on my usual pace, but still good fun.

We've been doing weekly races on Thurday nights in ACC. Hour long, mandatory pit stop tire change. Starting to really get the hang of this game and loving it more every time. :) The V8 Vantage is such a pleasure to race with a very few minor tweaks to the TCS and default aggressive preset.

@chaozbandit Offer is always on the table to join us (and to anyone else). Next week is Suzuka, I think. More details in the PRD discord.

If there's an ACC channel, I dont see it lol. I'd join if my quick release didn't snap while playing RF2 so otherwise relegated to gamepad again.

Finally a half decent race

 

The previous two attempts had me starting P1 where I outplayed myself,  got yeeted into, or the lobby failed to launch so this was amazing by contrast. Punted somebody by accident because they were slow checking up after t1 but had a decent battle with the next guy until the stop. Some corners at Bahrain make for good over-under moves but they're so slow that if one of you is on the wrong line you'll turn into each other. Got fully turned around by a guy near the end of L2 but worked my way back until one of the gosh darn curbs caught me offguard. Good run to the end catching the early stoppers on the harder compounds but had a bit of a touch which I dont think he liked, so he ended up torpedoeing into my sidepod the next lap.

 

Without wing damage I could have probably worked the gap down but oh well.
