What are some nerdy things you can do with an IPhone?

My dad will probably give his old IPhone 5 to me, as he is getting a newer one. As I do not really develop for Apple devices I am not sure of the possibilities they have. My biggest question is if there is something like Cyanogenmod for Apple devices. I just want to know about some nerdy things I can do with an IPhone. Maybe, just maybe, I will buy the Apple developer license, but it is not one of my main goals.

What are some nerdy things you did with your Apple devices?

 

I was actually going to buy a Firefox OS device, the developer one, to develop some cool things for, and maybe use it as a phone, since I still do not have one. But if their are some cool nerdy things I can do with the IPhone I will probably wait a little longer until there are some better FFOS devices on the market. (although their goal is not to make high end phones).

You can jailbreak it, but that's about it

All there really is to do is jailbreak. You could put a different OS on it, but I don't recommend it, I don't think they work right.

 

But honestly, these days there is a lot of possibilities with a jailbroken device.

Yeah... maybe because there is literally nothing nerdy you can do except jailbreak it the OS is that limited.

No that is the customization side... Android is an open OS you can do whatever you want if you know how. heck I can run Windows via a VM if I want.

Yea, high end flagship devices usually have better support since more users are using them and finding bugs.
