Should i buy Ryzen 7 3700x or i7 10gen?

ElmarJ

in raw power 10700k is better but it produces more heat and consumes more power and need a more expensive mobo for overclocking

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here

At this point of time, you should delay any CPU purchase, as the new generation is 2 weeks away.

3700x gonna get refreshed. If your keen on the i7, go ahead.

But don't frown when the new Ryzen can beat it for the same money.

If budget isn't as much of a concern, and you are only (or primarily) gaming, get a 10600k.

If you want a better workstation experience, get the 3700x.

If you can wait, wait for 4th gen ryzen and see how that performs.

what is your usage of the processor. also amd is releasing new gen in just a few weeks not sure about specs yet or pricing. I lean towards intel cpu's in general. but a few people are starting to like amd now

Your "few" is 84%.

thats 84% of the market many people are holding onto their intel processor and refusing to upgrade. intel still holds majority share of the cpu market of usage not current sales. amd is just a fad just like before and when the world once again realizes they dont have the know how to actually compete the amd fan boys will go back in their little hole where they continue to hide in shame. according to steam 75.05 cpu's being used in steam are Intel. also if you look into how many server grade cpu's are actually intel you will continue to see that intel holds the market share of total cpus being used by people. they do currently lack in sales currently compared to amd but once again amd had a little fad every few years and finally comes up with something that would be considered somewhat useable and the fan boys of amd buy it all up. then they go back to their little hole in their mothers basement

You gotta look at the trend. If you count laptop people + non enthusiast, of course they hold their cpu longer.

Sales represents today. How the market response to the innovation.

Don't count on people who just buy a pc in the past 3 years, probably they still have a great pc.
