It has HDMI, VGA, and 120Hz. The only downside is slight cropping of the edges for no damned reason.

I was actually looking into getting the previous pro model (the highly expensive one) just so I could stream my PC games to my downstairs TV. Is that still possible with this new updated version? If so I will pick one up the second it's in stock as it's even cheaper and I need to replace my old chromecast anyways.

Have you used Vizio's solution?

Then you're familiar with how bad it can be.

But yeah -- if you can tolerate it then no reason to spend more money.

I guess it could be the Youtube compression or something (watched the video in 4K just in case), but... I felt like was listening to how great the Emperor's cloth are... 🤷‍♂️

They're the same picture - Album on Imgur

I didn't notice a difference in most of the sample images, except for the the wooden minecart (5:50). Tried my best to see a difference in the human faces (like more detail in eyes or beards), but didn't see much. (watching on 4K on a 4K screen).

But I'll take his word for it, that it looks great :P

True, I did see that one as well. Not sure it looked particularly good, though, but more like the "HDR effect" or "Super resolution" settings in my monitor.

just a little note for you guys, the nintendo switch should technically be able to output at the same quality as a 2017 shield pro. why? look at the processors being used lol

also, this makes me wonder if we will ever see switch games being natively run on the shields 🤔

i like trains 🙂

Jokes on Linus, I don't have a paid subscription to any video service, less Prime Video which comes free with normal Prime 😜

720 playback here, it was brutally hard/impossible to tell on close ups. It seems like it looks better from afar even being recorded. Likely due to Youtube.

Could be nice to use less bandwidth.  Does anyone know if the video upscaling will be available for those of us watch streaming video on PC with an Nvidia graphics card?

I asked and they said "we have nothing to announce".

It wouldn't surprise me much at some point in the future, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it happening any time soon.

How about game upscaling from 1080p to 4K?

Please make a video using this with Parsec.

As an old person (40+) I would have loved to find out if this fancy upscaling does anything good on the made-for-480p content I spend most of my time watching.
