Is your local client completely grayed out stuck on connecting (orange) or can you view the logs? If its completely grayed out uninstall FOH completely (including data) then reinstall. Reboot system. Had this bug twice now for some reason.

I currently have these running:

2x GTX 750 Ti
1x GTX 750
44 cores across all the  devices

About to throw together another machine or two and put them to work as well as see about my servers too.

I did get this message through my log.

But I keep getting this message a lot:

20:21:56:ERROR:Receive error: 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

That error comes up when trying to use the viewer. Doesn't seem to be working correctly for anyone, error doesn't affect work but best to leave the viewer off to allow all resources to be allocated to folding

Ohh...never considered that.

I don't need to have the Client Advanced Control running to actually do anything?

Short answer, no. Long answer, it allows you to set more advanced flags against the core and the client if you so choose but not necessary to have the Advanced Control up. Most activity can be monitored from Web Control.

I know they are overloaded, but I've spun up many machines and get them within under an hour each time. 
Perhaps it is something to do with your setup or hardware that they don't like.

What are you trying to run it on? Have you tried setting client-type=beta?

Ok I'll close it and see if that helps.  Ill just check the web every so often

I just got two a few minutes ago.  It is all about the timing.

 

Lets say Stanford sends out 5,000 WU.  They might disappear in seconds.  There are lots of people doing this.

 

Maybe your client did not make a request during the 2 seconds that they were available.

 

Don't stress about it too much.

 

Pause it and restart it will reset the timer.  A pause-restart will make it send a few more requests.

Finally got a CPU and GPU WU running at the same time.  Lets hope they upload cause I keep getting failed to upload for a while now.  Any suggestions?

Network problem then. Either wait couple hours as it may be the on the FOH server side or try temporarily disabling your Windows firewall. Make sure you are running the newest FOH client (7.5.1 for Windows). Could also try restarting the router and the PC.

If you have been stuck waiting to download a new work unit for more than an hour try pausing the client and then resume folding. Alternatively restarting the client or restarting the PC will also work.

 

If you have multiple slots running with a stuck slot you can right click the stuck slot and select pause just to reset the stuck unit without needing to pause the active slots.

F@H automatically attempts to download a new work unit. If it fails to obtain a new work unit it will automatically check again. Each time it fails the time between the checks increases. If you fail multiple attempts it can make it so your client won't check again for hours.

By pausing and resuming (or restarting the client) it forces the client to check for a new work unit and resets the time window between checks.


Please only do this if you are stuck waiting a long time for a download and the Next Attempt is too long. Spamming it won't help you get a work unit faster, it just resets the time window between checks so it will only help those who have been stuck for a long time.

Remember; this won't make more Work Units available. There are still ongoing issues with F@H pushing out enough WUs to meet the high demand. It will only help if your client has stopped checking for new work units due to too many failed attempts.

I'm running a 2700X with an 5700XT.

I paused from the FAHControl and started again, within 2 minutes I got a WU for the CPU.

 

A couple of minutes later I got one for my 5700XT but it failed with this in the logs:

For me, right-clicking on the folding slot and checking "on-idle" then unchecking it led to quick WU allocation (resets timer to 30 seconds apparently). Use responsibly as spamming it is equal to a DDOS attack and won't do the FOH servers any good.

Beta slots are not guaranteed to be gotten, however I have found a slight faster response in jobs being assigned.

Got my second rig running pretty much 24/7 in another room now, it's only an i3-7100 + 1050ti, but it's better than nothing. Probably gonna set up my main rig to do folding aswell while I'm not using it.

Main speaker setup is now;

 

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Just got one with no waiting upon starting the client to see if I'd get anything (11763).
One of my teamies says they are stuck in upload purgatory - Two WU's done but cannot upload the results.

Just signed up and I now have another graphics card on the way to help in my main rig, with a Threadripper 1920X and an RX 590... after troubleshooting a weird BSOD that kept reoccurring.

 

Two quick questions:

 

Is everyone else still waiting on passkeys? I have been waiting since last night and still haven't received one.

Also, I was interested in donating a 50USD gift card (Steam, Amazon, GOG, any other recommendations?) - who would be the one to message about donating?
