zonetrooper90 reacted to GoodBytes in LTT forums vs other forums.
Simple really. The real GoodBytes is only available on LTT forum.
That is why people are here. It is obviously for no other reason.
I mean.. ahem:
No one's slick as GoodBytes
No one's quick as GoodBytes
No one's neck's as incredibly thick as GoodBytes'
For there's no man in town half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon!
You can ask any Dizmo, Ithanul, or Eduard the weeb
And they'll tell you whose team they prefer to be on
No one's been like GoodBytes
A kingpin like GoodBytes
No one's got a swell cleft in his chin like GoodBytes
As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating!
My, what a guy, that GoodBytes!
Give five, "Hurrahs!"
Give twelve, "Hip hips!"
GoodBytes is the best and the rest is all drips
No one fights like GoodBytes
Douses lights like GoodBytes
In a wrestling match nobody bytes like GoodBytes
For there's no one as burly and brawny
As you see I've got biceps to spare
Not a bit of him scraggly or scrawny
That's right!
And every last inch of me's covered with hair
No one hits like GoodBytes
Matches wits like GoodBytes
In a spitting match nobody spits like GoodBytes
I'm especially good at expectorating!
Ten points for GoodBytes!!!

zonetrooper90 reacted to Maxido in Gaming Desk Build Log [Selfmade]
Hey guys,
I just want to show you the results of my deskmodding and some pictures of the construction.
At first some "blueprints":
It all started with a large board of 28mm thick mdf and some smaller pieces with 19mm for the "pc-box".
I wish I had more pictures of the early stages but I didn´t think that this project will get that big.
So here are some pictures of the framing:
After that I made the holes for the speaker I got from older sony speakers and the left one also got a hole for the cd-drive.
While I waited for some hardware I got some cheap drawers which helped me to gather some stability for the heavy board.
Since I still waited for the hardware I needed to continue, I started to round the edge of the tabletop...
Then one day..finally..the fan control arrived and got its place at the back that is used as a cable channel.
Besides that my uncle made me some metal sheets. One for the fans and another one just for visuals.
...and yes I started to prime the speakers because there was still missing some hardware.
However I started to fit my monitor in by removing the base and drilling a hole for it.
Some days later I finally got the amplifier for the speakers which of course instantly got its place at the back.
Then I shaped the hole for the glass panel I forgot to order..
Soon after this was done I primed the rest of the parts which took me a while (Everything had to be primed in parts).
I sanded the parts and sprayed them black.
Slowly coming to the end I started to fit my pc in the box.
In order to make the parts easy changeable I removed the backplate with the IO from my old case.
It took me a while to get all the parts in there
I decided to do a double-layered bottom to have a better cable management.
For this my dad made me two extra aluminium sheets I put next to the backplate.(Can´t be seen at these pictures)
And that´s almost the end of the project
Some details later (LED stripes, power button, carbon foiling, cable management, missing sata cables and more..) I came to this result.
At this point I want to thank my dad who helped me with the whole project.
I hope you enjoyed this log.
If you have any questions just ask

zonetrooper90 reacted to LinusTech in I think LTT makes up a majority of Vessel views...
IT's late and I'm both hungry and tired from shooting Scrapyard Wars (which by the way is an LTT series and will be airing ad-supported on YouTube very soon for your viewing pleasure).
But there are a few points to address and you've already been patient enough.
I said LMG content would always be free. This was poor wording on my part. There has always been content produced by me and my team that was not necessarily available on a free platform like YouTube.
These "The Boost" videos that we make on contract as a sales training resource for Intel, for example:
In much the same way, Vessel has contracted LMG the production company to create an original series for their platform. They bankrolled the whole thing, giving us an opportunity to make something that otherwise would have been too costly, and per the licensing agreement they own the right to exploit this content. It's their show until such time as they decide it's not anymore.
We played more of a "production company" role in this than we're accustomed to.
This could, and SHOULD have been communicated better, and for that I'm sorry. The community should have heard about this from us FIRST, and not from a random email newsletter, but I've been (and so has the whole team) absolutely busting ass to not only get Nerd Sports produced, but also make sure that we're keeping up with everything else that we've got going on including not having missed a single day of LTT uploads for something like 5 years..
With that said, quantity isn't everything, and I've noticed that not everyone has appreciated the LTT content as much as usual lately, but it's hard for me to tell if that's because they don't like our new direction (fewer reviews, and more exploratory or experimental videos) or if they just saw a video or two they didn't like and raised hell in the comment section - it wouldn't be the first time.. And I will say, too, that honestly if a couple of the videos felt rushed then it's probably because they were.. HOWEVER, the primary reason for the rushed videos was the entire week we're taking off this week to film Scrapyard Wars Season 4, which will be premiering on Vessel sometime in the next few weeks or so, followed by a release on YouTube 1 week later, which is the standard agreement for OUR content that is paid for by LMG or our sponsors.
Nerd Sports was shot 40% during evenings and weekends with employees taking time in lieu later on when we hire some more staff or when things slow down a little. We were careful to avoid disrupting any of our other commitments because imo you guys deserve the best we can deliver.
Which is another point that was brought up in this thread - "How will LMG keep its commitment to maintain the pace and quality of the other content if they're making Nerd Sports or other contractual content?"
We couldn't. We're hiring.
I've never shied away from investing in more staff or better equipment or a better facility to make sure that we're doing our best for ourselves, each other, our sponsors and our viewers. If we play our cards right, absolutely everyone wins.
Nerd Sports has been a fantastic learning experience for us, and whether we continue the series with Vessel, create other completely different web series in the future, or just say "fudge it" and flip burgers from now on, we'll be able to do those things better than we could have without having done this.
So bottom line is this. I screwed up the way I communicated "LMG content", which was meant to be content funded BY Linus Media Group rather than content funded entirely by and licensed to a 3rd party, and I screwed up in a MUCH bigger way the LACK of communication about this project. Sorry guys.

zonetrooper90 reacted to Mikius10001 in No new Assassins's Creed game this year
I think this is actually a good thing. Having been an AC fan for a long time I've been very disappointed with how buggy the last couple games have been upon release. I'm really hoping that this 'down time' will give them the ability to put out higher quality games in the future. Side note, there is that 2.5D one, China I think. Not to sure, never got in to those side scrolling ones.

zonetrooper90 reacted to GoodBytes in Does older hardware use less energy ?
while you may find exceptions. Usually, for the performance you actually get for the Wattage, it is less.
Remember. I said PERFORMANCE, not MHz
Take for example your GeForce 2. Do alpha blending (transparency) with it. It will crawl to the ground, consume max power, and take time to process. While your fancy GTX 980, will be like: "huh? what's that? just let me go back to sleep!!! I already done it like 2h ago! Gawsh! So annoying! Always, bugging me... work work work... just leave me alone"

zonetrooper90 reacted to NeatSquidYT in Forgotten Tech Episode 1: Xperia Play
Not all tech gets the love it deserves, thus it eventually fades into the back of people's minds to never come back again. I want to uncover some of these forgotten tech products and resurrect their memory. THESE ARE NOT GOING TO BE REVIEWS!!! Just a little memorial.
This phone released in March of 2011 was revolutionary to me. At the time (me being a HUGE PS fanboy) I wanted this phone. I didn't even need the phone part, I just loved the flip out controller. The device runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, with early prototypes running Android 2.2.
From Wikipedia:
I only ever played with this thing once and I loved the controller. I think I played FIFA 11 or 12 on it. Great fun.
Do you remember this? Do you want more of this series? Tell me via a post

zonetrooper90 reacted to wyattzx in why pay money to get rid of the ads on this site when adblock is free?
It's not about the ads. It's about supporting the forum, and those running it. A lot of contributors run AdBlock, but support the site anyways.
Besides, why buy games on Steam if you can torrent them for free?
Why buy music if you can torrent it for free?
Why buy anything if you can steal it for free?
