Posted February 19, 2017 First, I hope I'm not breaking the piracy rules here, I only have ISOs of games that I actually legitimately purchased. I've got a softmodded wii that can play games off of an external storage device. The console is taped to the back of my TV and is not easy to load disks into. Anyway, I know that using an SSD on a the wii's 2.0 port will severely bottleneck the speeds of the SSD, but what about the time it takes to search for files? Will that be improved with an SSD compared to a HDD, resulting in slightly faster loading times? I've got three spare SSDs lying beside me right now and I need a use for them. Thoughts? Posted February 19, 2017 I just using a old laptop hard drive and seem to do the trick, no point getting SSD. It really also depend which type of game you play, i think the game i have load time isn't annoying long anyways. If you have spare SSD i would put it into a old laptop or use it for future builds.
