@ANTHEMBUILDSbadly made or old PSUs will often break. it sends a giant voltage spike to your computer and destroys everything.

the technician really doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about. the reason why you have a secondary connector is if your CPU is demanding more power than 1 connector can handle, it can draw from both. but if you don't hit the limit of 1 connector (which realistically you won't unless you're on LN2), then the 2nd connector is redundant. I have my 2nd one plugged in and I'm well under the power limit of the primary connector, and I'm using air cooling. so although the secondary connector is made for extreme overclockers, it won't brick your board if you plug it in.

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from SFFDesigns in 3200Mhz vs 3000Mhz on 3700X
Usually Ryzen prefers higher speed RAM, but it isn't a huge deal. if you're cool with your computer being a few percent slower, then 3000mhz is fine.
if you want the super specific data, gamers nexus does a pretty comprehensive report on this. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3508-ryzen-3000-memory-benchmark-best-ram-fclk-uclock-mclock
hope that helps!

although I haven't had your specific issue before, there's a few things that you could try. make sure your OS, your drivers, and your BIOS are up to date. sometimes newer versions fix stability issues. also, sometimes dirt or hair can get inside a socket and can cause issues. make sure your CPU your GPU, and your RAM slots are all clean.

agreed. you might want to run it entirely off LTE if the connection is super important

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from PixelPol in 3900x vs 9900k Base Supported RAM Speeds?
This system makes a lot more sense than the 9900k. You have all around better performance for a better price with Ryzen, and (2x8GB/4x8GB) of 3600mhz CL16 (CL17/CL18 doesn't kill ya) is the best priced RAM for the performance.

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from Tamgam12 in New rig
AMD is kind of the no-brainer at this point. it is cheaper, same single threaded performance, more cores, more features, unlocked OC and SMT on nearly all models. Until Intel comes out with a suitable response, you are kind of throwing your money down the drain going with an Intel system.
Is there some special use case you have? Are nonstop using H264 CPU encoding or something?

What is your budget? Also, Pre-built hardware is non-standard. it will be a magnificent pain to get that to work in a standard computer.

Points can be helpful to try to optimize your system. They can also show dedication to the project. other than that, not much

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from king113 in Advice need on my pc set up
It might be worth selling components individually for auction on something like Ebay. Very few people would buy the whole setup, as you have many different components that are fairly niche (sound card, dual monitor, etc.) and mismatched parts (fans). Also, the market sets the price, so you know you get a decent deal.

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from jaslion in boost my laptop
Consider a new laptop, as the CPU is 5 years old and you want a new GPU anyway. Also consider building a desktop, because you won't have as many issues with upgrading in the future. It is also cheaper to go with a desktop.

Go AMD. it is a better deal all around, and you'll be happy you did so. I'd go with a Rx 580 instead of an RX 570.

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from HanZie82 in Getting A Better GPU For My Office PC
I would save until you can buy a GPU worth more than $28 USD or $40 CAD. There really isn't much on the market at that price point, and what is there is close to unusable for anything but 10+ year old games. GPUs that old typically don't last long, and don't have enough VRAM to do anything meaningful.

Jedimaster99 got a reaction from knowyourphone in GPU upgrade
If you need to go AMD on the GPU, then the Vega64 is the only decent GPU they make in that price range. The other option is going with an Nvidia GPU, and getting a 2060 Super. You get the benefit of RTX, as well as a more stable GPU.
your system tend's to crash with a crappy PSU, but Corsair doesn't make THAT bad of PSUs. They aren't top of the line, but they aren't garbage either.
