Setup Upgrade Advice Needed

I was about to get the following to upgrade my setup.

NEW:

  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • MSI B450M Mortar Max
  • Superflower Leadex III 650W
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB 3200 MHZ CL16

CURRENT

  • Asrock H81m-dgs (Replacing)
  • i5-4440 (Replacing)
  • FSP HEXA 500 (Replacing)
  • 8 GB DDR3 Ram (Replacing)
  • Zotac 1060 6GB Mini
  • Samsung 500 GB SSD

However, the stores ran out of mortar max. Estimated restock is July.

Should I wait for it or is there any other motherboard that is suitable for my setup?

Mostly using my computer for music production, watching videos and light gaming etc.

I don't mind playing games with medium settings. Planning to replace my GPU in a year.

I'm not very knowledgeable about PC stuffs, just reading and watching videos for parts recommendations. That's how I came out with the new items to get.

I'm also quite paranoid because people telling me I shouldn't build now. New parts are coming out and I should wait for them before upgrading. But I'm too lazy to wait, new parts are always coming out, there will be no end to this.

Hopefully someone can give me advice!

Edit: New here. I wanted to ask about mobo but in the end I typed out a whole chunk of questions. Please let me know if I posted in the wrong sub forum.

Use your GPU for it

Your cpu doesn't have vp9

without sounding like a broken record the b550 pro4 is a great board for the value.

Can't find any stock in my country. I will look out for them!

Asrock Pro4 you mean?
Yes it's really cheaper. What are the differences between Pro4 and Mortar Max?

Mortar max has a better vrm solution and an extra m.2

The pro 4 still have decent vrm solution and I thing is a 100A board ( I think the mortar is 125 iirc)

It's a mess

Another thing to note... I won't be upgrading my setup so often.

Probably will upgrade 4 years later as long as it is able to run and nothing is wrong.

My recommendation is to wait

But if you can't just go for the b550 pro 4

Then wait

As for the YouTube video play back

Your cpu doesn't have VP9

Use GPU acceleration since your 1060 has VP9 and wait for b550  and zen 3

Thanks for your input.

My hardware acceleration is already on for chrome.

So it's either mortarmax/asrock pro4 or wait for the new stuff right?

Might have to think about it

Theoretically zen 3 will fix alot of the problems that zen 2 has

It will have a better imc and FCLK

And apparently a way better ipc count
