14nm architecture is turning 7 years old soon. Almost as old as GTA5 and milked as much. Tbh at this point I am going to say new Rockstar triple A game is going to be released before 7nm Intel CPUs.

I know I'm kind of an outlier, but...I don't really have this wish to meet any celebrity -- Youtuber or not -- in the first place. I just don't get the character-worship that neurotypical people seem to enjoy so much. I wouldn't have much of anything to talk with them about; "Hey, I recognize you from this-or-that." just doesn't make for a particularly interesting or long conversation.

I will never understand this forums obsession for never shutting down their computer ever, like it's some cardinal sin for the screen to not receive a signal 25/8 and their processor to not have power running through it at all times.

I'm fairly certain you cannot hold trademarks, patents, or copyrights on things like color unless it's a color you "invented".

That seems to fly in the face of the idea that you cannot copyright facts (Example: You cannot copyright, patent, or trademark 2+2=4). I'm pretty sure "this wavelength of light results in this color" would qualify as a fact.

However, you can copyright a process to create a specific color or shade, such as vantablack. Which apparently is a big deal in the art world, which was countered by another artist who created another pigment that is as close as is physically possible to vantablack, and sold at a ridiculous discount, provided anyone who buys it never sells, shares, or otherwise gives it to the guy who owns vantablack because the entire art industry seems to hold that guy as a complete f**king a*****e for charging insane prices for vantablack.

So unless they're claiming that they use a specific process to create a specific magenta, and are claiming that this startup is using that entirely proprietary process, this entire case should fall apart in about 10 minutes once it gets in front of a judge. I just hope the startup sues for legal fees for this kind of bullshit.

At least, if there is still any sanity in our collective court systems. Which I doubt.

Edit: The artist who created a different black from Vantablack, also created the pinkest pink, and also barred Anish Kapoor from purchasing it.

Can you imagine being on the legal team that's behind this nonsense?  Imagine coming home to your partner and telling them about what's going on at work.

"Oh nothing much, just suing another company for using magenta"

The problem with this comparison is has nothing to do with frame rate.  This would be akin to training in a game at normal speed, and then cranking it up to run at 6.7x real time, regardless of frame rate.  It's a completely different concept.  More frame rate doesn't make it faster, it gives you more intermediate information.  To make a proper analogy with driving, it would be like learning to drive at night using strobe lights for headlights and then one day stepping up to using normal bulbs.

You need to know how to drive but if you drive 30mphs for your entire life and then hit the gass to go 200mph you are gonna crash. Its a completely new game. You need to know how to take the corners, when to slow down, when you should speed up and more.

All in all, anyone who says humans cant see more the 30fps are lying to themselves, as they already see over 30fps. You just miss waay to much information at 30fps compared to 60fps and more.

Not really.  I've been playing tennis semi - professionally for a while and you (probably) have no idea how much players handicap themselves in order to become better.

If your good with a handicap (think an arm bound to your back,  sitting instead of standing etc etc etc) you *will* improve in a real match up situation...

I don't see how it's any different with "e-sports"  playing at low framerates,  low resolutions etc *will* make you a better player.

I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference, any true gamer can tell the difference. On 30 fps I loose my mind how slow and stuttering it feels, even at 60 fps I get annoyed.
