I have done something like this before. But, your best place for this to search is tonymacx86. They might have some step by step solutions for that. Clover EFI is the base where you need to start from. Unless you're booting on a Legacy BIOS, you need to search differently.

Almost every "thin and light" computer is a terrible value compared to their "thicker and heavier" counterparts. You pay for portability.
You're comparing a computer you have to put together yourself with a prebuilt.... surprise surprise, it's cheaper! Do the math, the difference really isn't as much as you think it is when you work it out.

This is a proper ipad vs. competitor review.

    https://www.pcmag.com/feature/264947/apple-ipad-alternatives-the-competition-finally-heats-up/3

WIndows surface tablets run windows 8.1 (yay everyone wants that) and not all of the tablets are compatible with all apps, not to mention the lack of apps made for windows tablets. Tell me this, what on earth are you going to be doing on a windows tablet that requires a fully fledged OS but does not require the processing power of a computer? Not to mention the android competition tables are always just a bit.... buggy (and let's not get into updates.)
My issue with that video is that they took one line from marketing "Replace your PC" and based an entire negative video around that. Yes, if you NEED a desktop environment then go buy a windows tablet, but what do you REALLY need a desktop environment for on a tablet? Also, apple is a hardware company, they do NOT want to mix product lines. Put macos on an iPad and it becomes a keyboardless version of the macbook air. That's bad for business.

Sure, linus will mention SOME... barely ANY of the good things, then flood them with "bad things." It's like judging a fish for it's ability to climb a tree. THE IPAD IS A BAD DESKTOP REPLACEMENT SO THEREFORE IT MUST BE TERRIBLE IN GENERAL. When simply said, it's not true. The ipad ranks #1 for an actual tablet in drawing/artistry behind the actual drawing tablets that plug into a computer. Was that mentioned? Na. Maybe for a second? Na let's focus on the bad.

    Everybody's doing stupid shit.
I personally think microsoft deleting files and possibly moving to a subscription based OS is a bigger deal than the ipad not being a good desktop replacement. And talk about price gouging, geeze... RTX anyone? But no, we accept that because for some reason people want to buy GPUs that cost as much as cars and are way overpowered for every modern game.

You have 2 licenses of Windows 10 (technically more than that, but let's focus on we, most of us, have access to)
OEM Retail OEM costs the least. However, it targets audience is system builders. You have a lower price, but you have no free Microsoft support to help you install the OS and get started (which, I don't think you care, but I am just mentioning), you don't have the fancy box (again, I don't think you care), but more importantly, the license is not transferable.

You can re-install Windows as many time as you want on the system, but the moment you install Windows 10 on the system and go online, Windows 10 will lock itself to your motherboard. You can upgrade the system CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, etc. But if the motherboard is replaced, then you'll need to buy a new license. That said, Microsoft is nice, if your motherboard is broken and you can't find a replacement to your liking, and you are forced to change your motherboard, and your nice, Microsoft will give you an override code to allow a single transfer.

Retail license, you have that setup and getting started support, nicer box, and you also have the power to transfer your license form 1 PC to another. The downside is that you pay more for your license.

Whatever game(s) you're playing aren't taxing the GPU that much then. This is a good thing unless you're getting poor performance in-game.

That would be the reasoning for cutting out the ads on Floatplane. I mean, who would want to film two outros for two platforms in one video?

I don't work for LMG, or do much YouTube-related, but I definitely wouldn't want to do that.

jakep0802 reacted to corrado33 in Which text editor do you use? (For coding)
Depends on the file I'm opening.

Generally I'll use Notepad++ for normal files, but for programming it's Atom, and for large (meaning freaking massive) files I'll use gVim. (handle's 20+ GB text files just fine.)

Why do I have 20+ GB text files you ask.... well... uh... I may have tried to brute force a game by calculating every possible move a person could make, then calculate the BEST one. That resulted in a few... 20+ GB files. (It worked by the way...)

jakep0802 reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Why is not there a Tiered Motherboard List ?
Even then I don't like having that information available. You could eliminate the need for "crap tier" by saying "anything not on this list is not recommended." If I'm looking for a product and I'm new to the territory, I like to have what I should find rather than what I should avoid. It's less thinking I have to do.
