Honestly, I hope they release it at 1k+. I plan on buying a pair and the less people rushing to buy them off the shelves the better.

For the price these will be hard to beat.

I mean who cares if it is plastic, if you want a metal body then you need to push your budget up in to the 1500 range.

For less than 1k these are a great value for what you get. I mean I hate gaming on a laptop in general, but if I had to do so on a budget I would give this a look at.

Not sure that is necessarily a good thing. None the less it appears to have worked out so congratulations.

I am a little skeptical about your "owning" an AI startup before even graduating middle school though. I would be very interested in hearing more about it and/or being provided a link. Who knows, maybe I will invest in it.

If not, then you need to stop trying to circumvent your parents rules. Kids should obey their parents.

Also since you are probably really young and your mom doesn't allow the buying of video games... then you probably also have no business playing GTA5.

My first true custom pc build was a long time ago. It used an old first gen AMD64 chip. Want to say it was a 3200 model (ran at 2ghz, but was comparable to a 3.2ghz intel chip).

I went from there to a Core 2 Duo e6600, which was later upgraded to a quad core q6600.
I think my next machine was a 2600k i7, and then I built a new pc about every year as my yearly income had took a recent massive increase.

You have seen his paypal transfers, but you do not know what his overhead is.

He could be making 4k in transfers to paypal per month, but chances are he is also paying out 2.5-2.8k a month for the equipment, energy, and bandwidth to generate that much paypal activity.

So from your perspective it might be like "WOW! He is making 4k a month." In reality though he is really only making 1200-1500 a month. Which is what someone making minimum wage at about $9/hr makes too.

What I would do is one of two things.

You could remove the 2.4ghz router and only used the 5ghz.

If you are going to use both, then you need to nominate a main router. Go with the one that is faster imo.

Then on the second router you will want to DISABLE DHCP. Setup your wifi settings like you want, then instead of plugging your 1st router from its lan port to the wan port on your second router... instead connection your first router via lan port to your second router via lan port.

This will make your second router act like a switch with wifi capabilities and will resolve the connectivity issues you are having.

So it would go like this.

Modem > Wan port on main router > Lan port on main router to lan port on second router. Make sure you disable DHCP and Firewall on the second router.

I think the problem is too many people think that if you have a server then you can instantly turn that in to a sustainable income. Which just isn't true in most cases.

I mean sure you can turn it into a supplemental income if you have the know how, but the risks going with anything bigger as a single individual far outweigh the potential benefits.

Ok, I think it is time for some hard truth in this thread now. I have entertained OP enough with ideas.

The truth is this, you can make money on the side with your servers. There are many ways to do it, but you need to find the one that works for YOU. Now you aren't going to get rich from this or even (in most cases) make enough money to have it be your only income source. You just do not have the capital or resources to invest to make it large enough for that.

Even if you did have the capital it would be a very risky venture. Hosting isn't consistent and has its moments of feast of famine and the first famine or even a slow start could be the death to your company. Even if you start slow and scale up, a few cancelled subs could take you into the red for that month. Why do you think so many people are using AWS? I can tell you one of the big reasons is on demand scalability and the fact they can use what they need without the risk associate to buying their own equipment.

One of your best options would be to setup VPS's on your machines and rent them out... or rent out a full dedicated box. The problem is, with the amount of machines you have you don't have the backbone to support the network infrastructure they will require. A 1 gigabit connection for that many machines will not cut it. It will just take 1 heavy users to bring things to a crawl and cost you customers. If you invest in a 10gb connection then you would be a little better off, but even then the cost associated with that connection will make profitability low.

Now we need to cover security. You will have some basic level of protection, but you will not have anywhere near what you would need to compete with a big provider. If you have any security incidents then you could be liable for damages incurred by your clients. So now you will need to invest in security options (which are not cheap) and if you do not have the background to configure, monitor, and maintain them... then you will need to eat the cost to bring on someone who can.

Then we have heat. How are you going to keep these machines cool? Is this going to be in your house? If so these will be loud and I doubt you will be happy with that situation. What about hardware failures? How quick are you going to be able to respond to hardware issues? Do you have plenty of spare drives, ram, etc on hand? If not you will need to invest there too. Are you going to offer support and troubleshooting for your servers? If so how are you going to handle that many clients (which you will see a constant amount of support requests for). Maybe you will need to spend some money here too, need to bring more people on.

So lets say you have done most of these things. You might be up to 200 servers for a good 20k a month, but after electricity, software costs, employee costs, etc... you MIGHT make 3-5k of that. So 36,000-60,000 a year in profit (much less after tax as a small business owner). Now if you have a handful of your clients cancel their subscriptions... then all of a sudden you are creeping into the red. Your overhead would stay mostly constant, but your monthly income from clients will not be.

He said the old router he is using has a switch on the side that enables/disables wifi.... So changing the password to the router will have no effect.

What I would do is one of several things.

    - I would go in to the router and block the IP's or domains associated with fortnite.
    - I would do the same as above, but instead in his computers host file
    - I would modify his shortcuts for the game to all point to a picture file that has some variation of "You have been banned"
    - I would modify block the exe for his game in his computers firewall... just add it to the outbound blacklist.
    - I would tell my grandma that the game he is playing contains naked women.

All of the above would stop his ability to play fortnite

    if you want the source.

That being said the "custom loop" they used is a prebuilt one that just consists of a good pump, waterblock, and radiator.
    EKWB Custom Loop:
EKWB EK-Supremacy Evo Acetal+Nickel CPU Block EKWB EK-DDC 3.2 PWM X-RES 140 Reservoir/Pump Combo EKWB CoolstreamXTX 240 Radiator 4 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm 1500RPM Focused Flow Fans So it is by no means a big custom loop or a super good one, just a basic loop comparable to the AIO in the comparison but using good components.

So you say it factually isn't better, yet you quoted a test that provides facts.

Water cooling IS better when it comes down to it. This is why custom water is often used and/or required for really aggressive overclocks. It does have aesthetic value as well, but that is all going to be based on people's opinion.

The facts are that custom water can dissipate MORE heat than air cooling solutions and it can also do it more quietly if you set it up that way. To be comparable with air cooling you would need a heatsink that would not fit inside your case, which is why air cooling does not compete.

The risk of water are minimal if you follow proper precautions.

Also in the comparisons like above the do tend to be flawed in favor of air. They are running on open test benches which give the cooler constant access to fresh ambient air, something they will not have in a case compared to water. Next they aren't putting a high load on these items, which again is where water excels. It can handle much higher TDP.

So in the test above if they were to raid the TDP of the CPU by say 30-50 watts... then the air cooler would start to buckle and temps would start to rapidly climb. However, the water cooler would like stay the same or in worst case scenario see a 1-2 c Increase in temps.

AngryBeaver got a reaction from Zed_ in What better can I do?
Your current setup is fine. The temps you reported for idle and under load are not going to be an issue.

Having more fans blowing air in than out isn't a bad thing and actually creates a positive case pressure. This means you will have less issue with dust and most of the excess air will find its way out of vented areas on the case. I wouldn't be overly concerned personally.

Good thing we have non-reference cards then with modded bios's for much higher power limits... some of them even do it automatically by just selecting the secondary bios on the card.

So yes, Nvidia did put some blocks in place, but this was more to make it harder to fry a card for your average person just wanting higher performance. For the true enthusiasts there are ways around these "blocks" so that you can crank the power even higher.
