So yeah, Shady as hell parent company, based purely on them now owning PIA, i would not trust PIA to keep your data safe

I have to ask... Why an FX-8350? I avoided these chips like the plague when they came out nearly 10 years ago, and I'm sure they've only gotten worse with age? If you're looking for something cheap, why not go with Ryzen? Zen and Zen+ are a bargain right now and will perform orders of magnitude better than bulldozer.

Weekly budget right now is ~$15 for foodstuffs. Rest is utilities etc. But hey! I'm debt free so far due to this, so it's working.

If the tubing is suppose to be clear you will very much want to clean out everything before using the system again. The waterblock is probably good and clogged. The system will overheat very quickly.

If you intend to not use a system for a very long time you should really drain and disassemble the loop prior to storage.

@Kpp550 Linus and Riley were talking about Floatplane and it's video quality settings. They want to implement 4K but, they had to ask people if they wanted 4K that looked fantastic but would be very taxing on your internet or if they wanted 4K that looked fine. You are reading waay too much into this.

Rossman doesn't know CPUs - it's not his specialty. He basically does macs and macs alone. If it's not one, he's just another average joe.

@AYDANN6ix9ine If you're willing to search up a pin-diagram, you may've been lucky and broken 2 ground pins (although the chance is low)

You have to balance between noise and thermal throttling. As long as you're alright with the temperatures and performance (It's not throttling), then you can turn the fan's RPM down. It's personal preference really.

I'd try turning the fans down to a low RPM where you're fine with the noise and then check temperatures. If they're alright, then you can leave them there (although you should make sure you have a couple degrees of leeway.

First off, what the hell are you using 40GBs or RAM on in a laptop?

Answering your question - I think that RAM prices will continue to drop; however, I don't think it'll drop significantly farther (Below $110), so unless you're really tight on money, I'd buy it now. A fab could break or something miscellaneous could happen - driving prices back up. There are many things that we wouldn't be able to know of (If we did - you'd bet that I would be in the stock market right now).

That's basically "security through obscurity"  - you can say the same thing about PCs or any other phone. Apple products are not more secure because they don't publish information or repair information.
In fact they're often hacked or viruses made for it, simply because of its popularity - virus makers and hackers will always target devices that have the biggest market share.

    Hackers will circumvent protections anyway...

No they have no point at all. It's them being greedy. You can hurt yourself changing your oil or fixing your car so never do it yourself. You can hurt yourself painting your house so never do that. Don't do wood working because you can hurt yourself. Don't play games because you can hurt yourself. It's a stupid point that has no validity. People should instead being educated how not to hurt themselves and repair electronics

Yep. It's planned on being a reoccurring thing.
I'm not quite sure what you're talking about... this past year has been the most productive by a longshot. This year's monthly minimum (~2.2B) is quite a bit higher than the highest maximum ever reached before folding month (~1.5B). LTT's F@H is, although in decline right now, still better than ever - and I'm sure it'll be reinvigorated when November comes around again.

Everybody spies on everybody else - that's just a fact of life now.
Hell, the United States and Russia legalized spying on each other in order to regulate the safety of each country. I think it is the Open Skies Treaty.

Broad data collection of users (ex. Facebook, google, etc) is well documented. They keep data of you as a person and as a group, but you've signed up for that so that's expected.

As for companies that you're not aware - yeah, they're collecting data too; however, it's not *specifically* about you. Although it definitely could be, that data isn't as useful for them.

Many new builders always want to go AIO because they're "just better". This video will surely help inform some about the advantages and drawbacks of each cooling solution.
