I was confused by this, and then I saw your budget. Fam. $25. What are you thinking. Of course most of the MP3 players in that price range are going to get bad reviews. You can increase your budget a little and find units actually worth paying money for. Ones that won't die on you. You do, after all, get what you pay for.

With a budget like that, I really can't think of anything but the Sansa Clip. It comes in various forms. If you up the budget to $75 - $100 you get far better units.

What you need to understand is it's not "simple." There's a lot that goes into making a decent DAP, and when it's done poorly, you get poor reviews.

There's loads of DAPs out there, a lot from very big name companies (Sony, for example), and tons of smaller players (Cowon, Fiio, Shanling, HiBy, Astell&Kern, etc).
Fiio makes solid DAPs, though they no longer make anything under $500. The used market has tons of offerings though, and they're all quite affordable.
Never compete isn't true, and there's lots of quality units out there, but definitely not anything in the OPs budget.

I mean, with that budget. Arcade machine prize quality is really the only option. Quality MP3 players are few and far between and much more money. There isn't really a market for them with cell phones and spotify being a thing so that's a major reason why. Honestly investing in a battery bank that can charge up your phone would be more worth it than buying a dinky little MP3 player. Otherwise spend the money to get an actual quality MP3 player. It's almost like you get what you pay for?

Audiophiles can be very picky, and that price range doesnt seem promising.

Ive been using my Fiio DAP for a few years now and dont have any complain, their products seems well rated in Amazon.

Everyone has different desires for cases. For instance i usually hate cases, they just dont do it for me and ive tried a few. My Family All needs cases cause they are known to drop them so its a mixture between Spigen and Otterbox.  One prefers a slip on case thats easy to clean, the other just wants one that they never have to worry about so each has a different use and need.

There is none, it depends on how proportionally thick / rigid and what kind of looks you're after. It's a subjective matter of fact.

Spigen tends to be the first brand I look for when I'm looking at phone covers.

I'd try and grab something off of eBay, you can get some really killer deals on nice kit. If you sign up at DYKPost, you can have it shipped to a US address, and the shipping is quite cheap. They then bring the item to their office in Richmond. IIRC there isn't any duty on headphones.

I haven't found even expensive wireless units to match the quality of a decent wired set.

I'd also look into how different pads affect the sound. With some headphones different pads absolutely destroy it.

You'll get some good suggestions here, but some really excellent ones over at Head-Fi.org.

I picked up a pair of new DT 177x Go headphones for about $200 recently.

I'd go Dell, for the curve.  Ultrawides have to be curved for me.  Period.

Smaller wheels isn't how you'd get the correct size of bike, assuming that's your problem. You just need a different sized frame. If anything, you should be aiming for 27.5" or 29" wheels.
I got most of my stuff from eBay, so as long as he lives in North America he's good to go 😉
SATA SSDs are not really any cheaper (and often actually more expensive) than NVME SSDs, and honestly they don't overheat at all. Perhaps the very high performance ones do when put into stressful benchmarks, but I've never had mine get remotely hot, and one is on the backside of an M-ITX motherboard.

Keeping in mind your budget is probably going to be somewhat tight, how's the used market where you are? @dizmowas able to profit $315 CAD off their last build and might give you some ideas for building on a budget.
It'll take a bit more work than just buying new parts, but it's doable and with prices dropping quickly it's getting easier and easier every day.

They don't have a monopoly, there are other providers.
However, I think that, since this has happened twice, the Canadian government needs to step in and find a different solution, especially in the banking sector.

I don't really get what you're trying to say.
It's possible new GPUs will also have shortages, however there likely won't be as much demand. So it won't seem as bad.

When are you going to be building a PC? There's no point in having it for the sake of having it if you're not using it in the foreseeable future.
If you're not building soon, I'd sell it or return it if you have the option.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Especially with the hardware that you're talking about. It wouldn't be of any real use to them, and would more than likely take up valuable shelf space. I mean, it's definitely a nice thought, just not something I think is worth doing.
