losBaumos reacted to paps511 in New PC build
You may want to get a 16gb ram kit. 8 seems to be the lower limit now a days.
Everything else seems really solid
EDIT--
If you are planning to upgrade ram in the future, why not just do it now? Might touch the limits of your budget though

losBaumos reacted to tom_w141 in PC Build (Advice?)
i3 is a waste of money but your choice mate. Literally no one so far has recommended the i3 over the G4560 so what does that tell you?
The reason is more expensive is because that is a 480, which is leaps and bounds above the 460 in your build. Drop that down to a 470 then still far better than a 460.
EDIT:
Dropped it to a 470. Though I remain adamant that you should have an SSD you'll thank me for it later.

losBaumos got a reaction from Aytex in Best budget 100$-200$ android smartphone?
So the apollo lite has an very nice premium feeling to it and the fingerprint reader is one of the best i have ever used and the signal reception is pretty awsome aswell.
The cameras are pretty good but the main camera has a little weaknes in the dark. Another bummer is that the phone doesn't have dedicated softkeys so you have to use the buttons on the display.
The battery is pretty solid aswell and it reaches without an problem through the day.

losBaumos reacted to JenjerBread in How to completely wipe a HDD
you'll need to change the permissions before you can do anything to it, right click on the file and go to properties
then security then click your pc name and click on edit permissions and select the full control checkbox
then you should be able to do what you want to those files , you can also do it to folders and i think drives/partitions aswell

losBaumos reacted to daniielrp in Do i need a M.2 storage
Do people need supercars? Faster = better?
If you keep games on an ssd they will load faster, but not much else.
As for file types, I don't think it matters these days.

Advertised to make stupid people buy it.
Meaning it's probably far overpriced for what it is.

losBaumos reacted to Snowmirage in $10k Audio Ethernet Cable? AudioQuest CES2017
A friend of mine came across this article and we both had a good laugh regarding the authors commends about this $10,000 (Yup thats Ten Thousand Dollars) Audiophile Ethernet Cable from AudioQuest.
Product Page > http://www.audioquest.com/ethernet/diamond
Link to Hilarious Article > http://arstechnica.com/staff/2015/02/to-the-audiophile-this-10000-ethernet-cable-apparently-makes-sense/
I won't go into a rant about how stupid the companies claims are as the author of this article sums it up far better than I could anyway.
After we both stopped laughing I actually started to get angry. As a network engineer who is intimately familiar with Ethernet and the OSI model I was rather ticked off at the companies claims. Went to their web site and I see ....
AudioQuest CES2017
Please o Please o Please if anyone going to CES knows half as much about how Ethernet cables work as I do please confront these guys and get it on camera!
If you haven't seen it check out the LTT video on the crazy HDMI cable hilarious!

losBaumos reacted to Sakkura in What is going to happen if I put a RAM module with more mHz that the motherboard supports?
It will run at the lower clocks the motherboard supports.
DDR4 usually defaults to 2133 anyway.

losBaumos reacted to tlink in New GPU or CPU
the best way to check this is by checking your gpu usage and cpu usage during those games, whichever reaches 100% the most is the one you should upgrade.

In my opinoin 144hz isn't worth it. You should go with 4k.
