How to completely wipe a HDD

xDylanio

Hello, well I'm going to reset my pc. But first I want to save some of my old recordings. Just so in a few years I can look back and probably have a good laugh. Anyways since im starting out fresh, the only files I want on my secondary HDD are those recordings. But I have a bunch of useless files from the old pc it came from. Everytime I try to delete them it ends up telling me I need permission from trusted installer.

-edit- heres a pic http://prntscr.com/ea41ll

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

you'll need to change the permissions before you can do anything to it, right click on the file and go to properties

then security then click your pc name and click on edit permissions and select the full control checkbox

then you should be able to do what you want to those files , you can also do it to folders and i think drives/partitions aswell
