KSP got a reaction from Zando_ in 1080ti hybrid comparisons?
Performance/Temperature wise, all the Hybrids will be the same. The SC2 Hybrid uses the SC2 PCB, which is, I believe, is the Founders Edition PCB. The FTW3 Hybrid has a FTW3 PCB, which is a custom PCB. Thus, you may have better overclocks on the FTW3 Hybrid compared to the SC2 Hybrid, but it won't really be THAT noticeable. The SC2 Hybrid also has no RGB lighting, only White lighting, while the FTW3 Hybrid does have RGB. I don't know much about the Sea Hawk Hybrid because I usually tend to stay away from MSI, but from what I hear it's a good card. Personally, I have the FTW3 Hybrid, because I felt that it matched my PC's theme better (lol). However, value wise the SC2 Hybrid is probably the best. Plus, you get EVGA's awesome Warranty and Customer Service :).

I got a new K95 RGB platinum with Cherry MX Brown switches for the price of a K70 and it's nice. I can't say it's worth it without any discount or anything tho, better off getting a K70 if you can't find a sale on the K95.

    building PCs goes nowhere.
Look at what happened to TV repair technicians.

It is not as demanding as systems engineering.
    This is a stoners job.

KSP reacted to Princess Luna in (1080 TI) Which GPU of these 4 do I buy tomorrow?
The issue with Founders Edition is that say Linus spoke bad of it once and then automatically even people who never touched it starts copy pasting (FE sucks FE sucks) with zero actual experience to back it up.

I have nothing against the Asus Strix it is hella great card, it just annoys me when people speak bad of the FE wrongly.

KSP reacted to DaMainMan in 1440p 144Hz gaming
Honestly I would pass on that monitor. 24 inches is too small for 1440p imo -> 27inch is the 1440p sweetspot and makes the whole gaming experience much better. Also its a TN panel -> the vibrant colors of IPS actually makes the upgrade even more worth it.

When I was recently in your position, I chose a 1070 and a PG279Q -> I can upgrade my GPU later on when I need more FPS, but I plan on keeping my monitor alot longer.
If you buy that monitor I think you will be dissatisfied with it quite soon.

Thanks for sharing your screen here. It is like €650 when i want to spend around €350 for a monitor, and I'm not entirely sold on the TN bandwagon.
The monitor I am probably going to buy is the BenQ PD2700Q , priced at €380 here. 1440p , IPS, excellent colors and no noticeable backlight bleed.

KSP got a reaction from arranb1223 in Do different variants of the 1070 perform better than others?
Because of Pascal, any 1070 variant will perform within 1% to 2% of each other. It really comes down to thermals and noise and a deciding factor between each variant. That 1070 Mini is a good card, but it's more meant for small form factor builds, so thermals and noise aren't going to be the best. But if the price difference is that substantial, then it's not a bad card. As for ebuyer being a reputable place to buy from, I cannot say as I've never bought anything from them.

KSP reacted to Mira Yurizaki in RX Vega looks terrible
Vega has more within it than Pascal. The GTX 1080 has 7.2 billion transistors while Vega has 12.5B, not including the HBM stacks.

The only reason why Vega's performance appears lacking is mostly due to how games are designed and how AMD's drivers want the command lists from the CPU.

KSP got a reaction from Mythras in Monitor Hunt
I purchased my Dell S2716DG from Micro Center in Duluth, Georgia. I had a employee who was helping me (as I also got other PC components there), and I asked to see the two Dell S2716DG's they had in stock in person. That's when I saw that one of the monitors had a manufacture date of October 2016 (A03), and one had a manufacture date of June 2017 (A04). I have no idea what the differences are between all the revisions, but the newer the better(?).

Edit: The monitor's box should have a sticker on one of the sides. There it should state where it was made, the build date, and the revision number. Also, a bunch of other barcodes and numbers that aren't important lol.
Edit again: You should be fine with any of the revisions you get. I honestly doubt there would be anything major or game changing changes for each new revision.

Finely, just bought the Nvidia 1080 EVGA SuperOverClocked ACX 3.0, bought the last one in the cheapest i could get (650$). I would buy the 1070 but it was 30$ less if i could buy them with no taxes (I'm on a vacation) i would buy the 1080. So ty all for helping me decide i will install it on my PC in a week, if any of you wanna get results or idk how it is performancing you are welcome to ask!

Also don't worry about it man, its just some buyers remorse you got. I get exactly the same after some big purchases. You didn't buy a i3K so you didn't done goof.

Cool! Yeah, I purchased a NZXT Kraken X52 (because you can never have too much RGB amirite or amirite?), and I'm going to try to overclock to 4.8GHz on the 7700K, as soon as I have the system built!

Dude, you have the CPU Ryzen 7 was trying to be.
Intel Core series have stronger single core performance and it only pars with R7 Multi-core performance (Which single-core performance is not so impressive, just like earlier AMD CPUs).
    Your on good ground already.

    7700k, if you're just gaming it's better.
But what about a future gpu upgrade? In the future the difference may become noticeable at 1440p.
And when's that gonna be? In 5 years? By which time the 7700k will have enjoyed 5 years of winning? And by which time a CPU upgrade should be considered?

Well speaking from someone who did wait for Ryzen I can tell you that price for performance is what sold me and since its a new platform I'm comfortable with the bugs that had to be worked out, Intel is still king for single core performance but for my use I'll trade off a few FPS for the ability to future proof my 1800x rig for several years and if AMD is right the AM4 platform will continue grow

You're fine, it will last for a few years. Since you don't do multitasking much 7700k was a better choice. And you could still do some multitasking with it but not multiple intensive stuff. And hi from 20 minutes outside of Tampa.

Future proofing is not a thing. Don't feel bad because new things come out. I bought a 1080 a month before 1080ti, and 680 1 or 2 months before 780. I initially regretted the 680 purchase but i was happy with it performed so I stopped regretting purchase

Also, are you suggesting he wait another 12 to 18 months for 1180 Ti?  That is not necessary.
