RGProductions got a reaction from bomerr in What is the deal with used CPU prices?
As a general rule, the most powerful option of each platform will demand a large premium on the used market. Step down a tier or 2 and see

RGProductions reacted to Levent in How to annoy hundreds of developers in all 50 states - Vermont bill would allow Emojis in license plates
Vermont is also where people register their gray import vehicles (like R34s, JZX100s, S15s etc).
edit: it was Maine.

RGProductions got a reaction from The Sloth in Issues With Overclocking Acer Monitor.
You probably can't, a lot of my monitors won't work at even 1hz over their rated spec.

There there.....Intel has taken 4 generations of Skylake to get it right. Maybe the next one (10th gen, still Skylake) they'll finally get it!

RGProductions got a reaction from BuffNuggets in Help with updating BIOS (without visual input)
I could be wrong, but I meant that the motherboard you are updating must have a compatible (read- first gen zen) CPU installed in it to update the bios, not your 3600, which will only work once the bios is updated.

RGProductions reacted to Daniel Z. in Help with updating BIOS (without visual input)
@BuffNuggets
On some Asus boards including the Crosshair VI Hero, one of the USB ports can be used to update the BIOS without a CPU installed. Go into the manual and check which one. Download the BIOS version you need onto a USB drive and plug it into the specified port, and press the flashback button. The USB has to be FAT32 formatted

RGProductions got a reaction from Daniel Z. in games not utilizing ram
A program will only use as much ram as it needs. Anything more will not be used, and anything less will cause MASSIVE issues. Chances are your problem is somewhere else if you have FPS issues.

Actual user of GeForce now (the windows one) here- it’s still garbage. Game streaming isn’t ready, and I honestly think it never will be

RGProductions reacted to ZacoAttaco in Apple could be releasing 5 new phones in 2020, including the iPhone 12
Yeah this is why I'm using an iPhone currently. I'm pretty happy don't seem myself going back to Android anytime soon, personally.
It would surprise me if they flat out removed FaceID but it is Apple we're talking about, they can be unpredictable at times, despite all the leaks and tired designs.

RGProductions got a reaction from onlybuilt4cubanxlinx in Athlon X4 950 or Ryzen 2200g?
2200g all the way. The athlon is a 22nm part based on an architecture from 2012ish iirc and is a terrible terrible part.

RGProductions reacted to seon123 in is going 450W for a 200W system overkill?
Yes, it's overkill, but good luck getting a decent PSU that have a wattage much lower than 400-450W. The more important part is getting an actually decent PSU, rather than a random 450W 80+ certified PSU.

It’s kinda nice that they get the shaft for once. Maybe one day Comcast will get the shaft. The most Comcast ever got was the tip. LOL.

RGProductions reacted to Poofu in Blue light filter is actually bad for you, new study shows
The point still stands that it is easier on your eyes than sharper color pallets with blue by making things more mono-chromatic reducing the strain on your eyes.
Mice are also nocturnal creatures primarily which means evolutionary they would have the opposite reaction from humans.

RGProductions reacted to vanished in Brother of drug lord Pablo Escobar launches a $349 foldable smartphone
Ignoring the scam vs not debate and just focusing on the device, I see a few good and bad things. The good is obviously the price, this is better than a lot of normal phones, never mind the folding ones that always seem to be $1k - $2k. If this does turn out to be a real product, it's going to be a much appreciated and powerful dagger through the heart of any support for these other insanely priced devices. However, one obvious downside is it appears that the fold has such a huge radius that it's effectively useless. It doesn't fold flat, just sort of into a vastly more awkward shape than a flat slab would have otherwise been even without this feature.

RGProductions reacted to DrMacintosh in No NVIDIA CUDA 10.2 for Macintosh or Hackintosh
There isn't a single researcher out there who thought they could buy a new Mac Pro and put an Nvidia GPU in it. That's not technically feasible. An Nvidia GPU will not allow any Mac to Boot except for those which shipped with one from the factory. Further there are no drivers to allow Nvidia eGPUs to work in macOS.
Apple does not need CUDA because they have OpenCL and will soon have the Vega II Pro Duo, which is going to be a more capable compute card than any single Nvidia offering.
Mac programs do not utilize CUDA, Mac programmers do not utilize CUDA, Macs do not have Nvidia GPUs. Anyone who is using CUDA already has a PC.

RGProductions got a reaction from TechyBen in Linus said on WAN show that 30fps is preferred over 60fps among LTT viewers. Is that true?
Personally I like the 60fps upload as it allows for 60fps b roll which looks really nice, but for scenarios where the camera isn’t moving and it doesn’t look choppy I prefer 30fps video.
