Yeah, same.  I mean for the 9" mark for me, I mean.

Or elephant ears on my thighs.

    Either one.

Interesting.  I guess it's where we are heading as society, early stages of wearable (readable) tech on our persons.  Dig it.

Ehh, probably not gonna happen. They are almost always proprietary. I used to have one of these just for that reason.

I think off topic is already designed to be a catch-all for anything already not accounted for. I don't see a reason to subdivide it. It would easily get far too complex and complicated for no real reason other than organization of topics that don't need to be organized.

Then of course your average disclaimer that Mac OS on Intel is going to be pretty spotty in the future as developer drops it in favor of full time ARM mac development. But yeah besides Asahi, youre SOL on M chip Linux right now.

...and even macOS 13 already supports only a couple years back of Intel Macs (around 2017 or so for most models): The end seems to be sooner, rather than later.

You're going to have to detail all the hardware and UPS model. Seems either it's insufficient, can't handle some transients, or maybe the software for it crashes...

dj_ripcord got a reaction from Psittac in How to set up Dolby Atmos on my TV ?
Call me naive but I genuinely don't think that's even how Atmos works... at all. Atmos is supposed to be scalable to any combination of surround sound speakers. But I'm pretty sure the minimum on that is 5.1.2.

Basically, your experience with TV speakers is going to sound no better (actually, probably worse) using Atmos over regular stereo.

select the highest one that works with your setup, and stick with it, there is no reason to go lower when most things arent even above 16 bit 192khz as far as im aware but correct me if im wrong.

Won't hurt anything if you don't move your PC with the GPU installed. Just make sure the I/O screws are in tight. Or support the GPU from underneath on the right side with something. Some people 3D print a scaffold to hold it, others purchase a solution online somewhere. My roommate literally uses a rubiks cube.

If it's stuck, might wanna turn the PC off completely, flip the switch on the PSU, and gently pry at the clip with a pair of long nose pliers. That's about all you can do without damaging it.

You need a multimeter. Put your probes between the +12v and the GND while the meter is on continuity or resistance. You should get high resistance or no tone on continuity mode.

Nothing you can do unless you can figure out where it was purchased.

Probably ebay or other used-online retailer if it was empty. This sounds like a scam unless your grandpa bought you literally an empty box. Which is possible. There are plenty of empty-box listings on ebay. They're often REALLY cheap.

You can use a molex to 8 pin adapter. Ive used one and its been fine. Most of the older xeons aren't that power hungry, so molex is fine power wise. Id rather have a good psu with an adapter than a cheaper psu without.

There is absolutely no reason to record above your native resolution. You can't record pixels that don't exist.

Besides. 8K resolution is ridiculous in terms of how much storage space it would use.

dj_ripcord got a reaction from Ucan_101 in Is it okay not shutdown my laptop and let it sleep overnight everyday ?
Absolutely. You're not doing any damage.

However it's not uncommon for applications that are running to start hogging resources after they're open for extended periods. Sleeping your laptop does not force these applications to 'clean up'. A shutdown does.

So, just reboot occasionally and you'll be fine.
