I have a old gigabyte ga-z77x-d3h whenever i make a hardware change the bios corrupts (things as simple as dropping in a 2nd stick of ram or a wifi card) and i have to restore from 2nd bios and then proceeds to post fine if i dont make a change i can leave it off and unplugged for weeks and not a single issue when i turn it back on. any idea what could be causing this issue?

Could be the old CMOS battery is kinda dead, change it (CR2032 type)
