I suggest searching his email for relevant terms to try to find the order confirmation. If you cannot identify where he purchased from, there is nothing you can do.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Nothing you can do unless you can figure out where it was purchased.

Probably ebay or other used-online retailer if it was empty. This sounds like a scam unless your grandpa bought you literally an empty box. Which is possible. There are plenty of empty-box listings on ebay. They're often REALLY cheap.

Whatever payment method he used should have the information. Credit Card, Paypal, eBay, what have you.

Would still be a scam, if he didn't understand what he was buying, and some people count on that.

You could also look through search history on whatever device he ordered from.

If he bought it online, there is almost 100% guaranteed to be a confirmation email of some kind. Credit card transaction history is another good idea. Search history could be tedious because who knows how many sites he looked at before he got to the one where he clicked "Buy."

Yeah, although some browsers let you search through your search history

Oh yeah I know I'm just saying even if you search for RTX 3070 that could be 100 individual pages.

I'd be curious to see where this was purchased. If it was a returned item, or the original ad if it was eBay.

And to hear how it ends up for your grandpa getting his money back.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
