TheSLSAMG reacted to vanished in Steam distribution policy prohibits Epic Games / Tim Sweeney from exclusivizing any Steam-marketed games
This seems like both a logical move from Valve's perspective, and something good for consumers.  If game devs are going to post their game to Steam, let it gather attention and hype for weeks or months, and then pull it at the last second, it's deceiving consumers and spamming the Steam game store with what effectively become fake listings and ads for another platform.  If you're going to make an exclusive game, you earn the downside of being posted and advertised solely on that store.  You don't get to post it everywhere for free advertising and then pull out at the last second.  I'm not sure if other stores like uplay or origin have suffered to the same degree, but if so I hope they follow with a similar clause.

    No to MSI.
Why are you buying that CPU if you don't plan on overclocking? Seems like a bit of a waste.

    I'm confused.
So, title is about iPhones and when you should buy them, but then it seems to go off-track and talk about when you can get deals on cpu/mobo combo's.
Like, I get how they got there but when I clicked the video I did not expect getting tips on when you can get deals on cpu/mobo parts.

Also there's no outro, hooray for QC... Cmon guys, this screams rushed and clickbait.
Imo what you should have done is take the first 5 minutes, condense it to 2-3 minutes and keep it for the actual iPhone review.

And the visual at 4:15 is a mess but that might just be me.

Complete guesswork: if you want to evaluate a new employee it might be a good idea to tackle it a bit different, like, for editors, let them all create the same video but only release them here and let the community give feedback. People here know it's a nice community, we aren't toxic (most of us at least) and don't mind giving good and bad feedback. It's just a suggestion.

TheSLSAMG reacted to Iovl123 in Should i upgrade my gpu or my cpu?
Im not currently at home, and dont remember the exact specs of my pc, pretty sure the psu is 650w bronze, the mobo is a rather cheap gigabyte one, the case is nzxt h340. regarding a budget, im not aiming to spend a certain amount to improve gaming. lets say the budget is that of a 2080 super, and the pricing in my country is a bit odd? 2080 super goes for around 900$ (2080 ti is around 1400-1500$). but all components are equally overpriced.. ordering online isnt any better thanks to pretty high VAT..

I know that higher resolution puts more load onto the gpu, and although ive always been a part of team blue, the new ryzens are just too good to pass on.
I was thinking to myself that upgrading to 2080 super before the cpu might be better, as im not going to play on 1080p now or in the future.
Depends on what the future will unfold, i might upgrade my ram after my gpu, but i if what youre saying is true, i think going with new gpu is better for now.
    Thanks to everyone who helped!

You will see a greater gain in gaming performance by going with an RTX 2080 Super than by going with a Ryzen 7 3700X, so I would go down that route. Also consider higher speed memory, as a 3200MHz kit of DDR4 can also improve gaming performance (and you'll be able to use it down the road when you get a CPU/board upgrade)

TheSLSAMG reacted to kirashi in Should I install x64 Windows version on a x86-based PC, x64 based processor? (Sorry, my English is very bad)
If you have more than 4GB of RAM, then that processor will run 64-bit Windows just fine. If you have 4GB RAM or less, 64-bit will be worse due to the way it handles memory capacities.

TheSLSAMG reacted to colonel_mortis in DOJ orders apple and google to hand over identifying data of every user of gun scope app
Based on the article, it doesn't look like it has anything to do with gun use within the US. Instead, they are looking at where the scope is being used outside the US.

Weapons, weapon parts, and anything that could conceivably be used as a weapon (including encryption software for a period) is subject to strict export laws from the US (I don't know about other countries, but suspect that it is similar in most places), which I believe require the company to do a lot of paperwork to get approval for each country that they want to export to. If this scope is being widely used in countries that they have not received the necessary permissions, there must be a company that is exporting them in violation of US law.

This is definitely not a necessary or proportional way to go about doing that. If they had requested just the aggregated country data (how many downloads per country), that would allow them to achieve that goal without invading the users' privacy.

TheSLSAMG reacted to justpoet in DOJ orders apple and google to hand over identifying data of every user of gun scope app
As reported, this would seem to be a thinly veiled attempt at starting to create a govt list of gun owners.  That's not cool, or legal, and is asking for abuse later on down the road, especially regarding the 2nd ammendment.

That being said, if this is indeed all for the ICE/ITAR issue, it would be reasonable and not a privacy/rights issue for Apple/Google to provide locations of high app use density outside of the US, allowing the govt to further pinpoint investigations of smuggling to those areas.

You might as well go for the 2400 or 3400 since it can't be upgrade further than that. The RAM is the most important thing for APU performance.

And why not just get a normal ITX system?
