DatGuyParker reacted to don_svetlio in GTX 970 or R9 390
Eh, Free-sync is generally more accessible and affordable and based on Linus' recent video I'd say is pretty much on par with G-sync.
Drivers are a mute point as both sides release drivers since the "frequent" Nvidia drivers are essentially the beta drivers AMD release regularly. Before you start talking about stability, that's also a mute point. Just ask around and you'll see.

DatGuyParker got a reaction from BigDay in My New Build
Great build for 1080p but I would recommend a ssd for gta v. The ssd greatly improves performance and you can also install your os on it and have a 10-20 second boot time.

The VRAM is a bottleneck.

DatGuyParker reacted to SimpleGamingX2 in New Wan Show Intro
So, i basically made this intro in my spare time, and i belive it could replace your current intro quite well If you like it, you can have it! Didn´t know where else to write this, if anyone has any input, i encourage you to do so Anyway, here is a link to a "hadnicaped" version (for ownership reasons or whatever) Specifically my name and a glitch at 13 seconds.
Okey, after getting a lot of input from you wonderfull people, i have refined it quite a bit! It will be rendering the night over, so expect a "perfect" video tomorrow morning Thanks everyone.
So here it is, the refined version of the intro. Thanks for the input, here is the video:
Here is what i changed
- Removed shadows from the quote bubbles
- Gave Linus and Luke feet
- turned down the sound volume
- made the sponsorspots in two lines instead of one
- removed glitch and marking
This made the video look more refined, because that is what i did, like i refined it? anyway, hope you liked it.

DatGuyParker reacted to dizmo in Intel Skylake: Should I wait?
Eh, you likely won't notice any kind of difference in day to day or gaming use.
I'd just go with what's out now.
The only real reason to upgrade a chip is if the motherboards support something the old ones don't. Like m.2 storage, or something of that nature.

DatGuyParker reacted to OfficialJsP in Is the GTX 970 3.5 vram a big issue?
No its not a big deal and you don't have 3.5GB you have 4GB but the last 0.5GB is just lower than the rest of the VRAM.

DatGuyParker reacted to connorpiper in GTX 950 launches on the 17th of August + official specs
This will be great for small ITX systems that don't like extra heat.
Hopefully it is actually better than the 750ti.

DatGuyParker reacted to byalexandr in GTX 950 launches on the 17th of August + official specs
Probably not going to sell as well as the 750 Ti since the 750 Ti doesn't require PCI-E power connectors. Makes it more useful for people with crappy OEM PCs.

DatGuyParker reacted to c0d0ps in Going from GTX 760 to GTX 970
Your friends either are stoopid or not sober.
You should notice a difference of min 20 fps on higher settings (without oc).
You can oc to get more power but, since your cpu is already really strong it won't need it to keep up with the 970.

I can help you as far as it comes to the prices. Look at each option and see what kind of spending you are looking at.
For 1080p you should consider getting a GTX 970/980 - $315/$483
For 1440p you should consider getting a GTX 980/980 Ti - $483/$650
For no overclocking and no streaming you should consider getting an i5-4460 - $167
For overclocking and no streaming you should consider getting an i5-4690K - $230
For streaming and no overclocking you should consider getting a Xeon E3 1231-V3 - $243
For overclocking and streaming you should consider getting an i7-4790K - $329

DatGuyParker reacted to Sir Asvald in Microsoft may be interested in buying AMD
If this has been already posted. Sorry.
If Microsoft do buy AMD, hopefully this will fix their CPU issues.
http://www.kitguru.net/components/anton-shilov/microsoft-is-interested-to-buy-advanced-micro-devices-source/
Quote from the website.
In a bid to revive its chip design operations, Microsoft Corp. may acquire Advanced Micro Devices, according to a source familiar with the matter. The software giant approached AMD several months ago, the source indicated. The result of the talks is unclear.
Microsoft Corp. has been selling game consoles for over ten years now and back in 2006 the firm even formed a division to design chips for its products, primarily game consoles. While this internal group has clearly developed some chips for Microsoft’s hardware, the company used chips designed by Advanced Micro Devices and Nvidia Corp. for its Xbox One consoles and Zune players, respectively. As it appears, Microsoft’s own chip design team cannot really develop competitive solutions for the company’s devices and in order to make its chip operations viable

If it is a deal killer, I brought the red back, but no 980 TI, sorry. It is still a good build, and cheaper than yours but with better performance because upgrading from the 970 to the 980.
