And vs the S10... I think I do value the software experience enough to warrant the extra cost. Specially considering that I've had bad experiences with samsung phones getting slow really fast, even though it's supposedly fixed, I still prefer the near-stock experience

Go for the oneplus7 (nopro)  the pro is slower then the normal one ?‍⚕️

you're getting 16 gigs of vram that's faster than gddr6 for the price of a 2080, how can you say no to that?

Windows 8.1 is fantastic, lightweight and performs very well. If you say you hate it 9 times out of 10 it's because you're recycling someone else's opinion that hasn't used it for any significant period of time.

Anyway I've now switched to Windows 10 as my daily driver (Pro Build 1062) and it's great. I'm very excited to see the release!

How'd you manage to get 9gigs of ram? 4+4+1?
 
Assuming you're getting something along the lines of a 390(x)~980(ti) then your cpu probably won't be a bottleneck as much, as long as you overclock. But seeing that that's nearing 5 years old, you might think about upgrading that. If you really need one now, then like @DarkBlade2117 said, a 4690k/4790k will be good, or if you can wait until September or so, get a skylake i5 6600/i7 6700. You're going to get a new motherboard (and potentially new ram as well)
 
Oh, almost forgot, you probably will need to get a new PowerSupply. 550W is pushing it too close for my comfort for a high end cpu+gpu, especially when it's a number of years old. 

in the US...cause in canada with the prices right IMHO with a 600$ budget you better buy a PS4 or Xbone.

the best is to disconnect your internet, then you're 100% safe (unless someone steals your PC)
