The first sentence in the roadmap literally says that intel is going to start manufacturing those 8c/16t CPUs at the end of Q3... Not that they are going to release them.

Could be a power limitation, my gtx 965m exceeds the limit of my power supply when I overclock it. Is your laptop plugged in, when you are gaming?

The gtx 1080 is basically on par with Vega 64, although the second one consumes much more power. Vega 56 is faster or equally fast as the gtx 1070. Rx 580 faster than the gtx 1060 6GB. Rx 570 faster than the gtx 1060 3GB. The rx 560 1024 competes well with the gtx 1050-1050ti. And the rx 550 trades blows with the gtx 1030.

AMD has made its Q3 financial results public, which show a dramatic increase in overall revenue and profits, even going over what Amd has estimated prior to this quarter.

In my opinion, Amd is coming back to it's old results prior to bulldozer, which is great, because more revenue means more R&D, and thus more competition with better products. I hope, that we will see more revenue from epycs side of things and some much needed competition in the GPU market.

I just moved from my i5 2500k to an i7 3770k and I plan to delid it and overclock it, because I was told it can handle 4,8 GHz. If your combo can do, what you want it to do, than there is no need to upgrade. People use the word "bottleneck" to much without even properly understanding it, so don't worry. I wouldn't move to the 8700k in your case, because the underlying architecture has been used in three generations already (skylake, kaby Lake and coffee lake use the same architecture without any ipc increase) so yeah, have fun with your x79 pc.

Lawliet93 got a reaction from PixelFray in Which to upgrade for better OBS Streaming?
The cheapest wat to target the problem would be upgrading to an i7 6700k, overclock it and selling your old cpu. If you really wanted, you could sell your cpu + motherboard and get a Ryzen system (if you were serious about streaming and if you wanted  to use cpu encoding, which is superior in quality when compared to nvenc or Intel quicksync),  but the most cost-effective way is to buy a first gen skylake overclockable i7 (not the i7 7700k, it's to expensive and you won't get your money worth)

Screw you guys!!!! AMD is doing (if they have any saying in this situation) the only logical thing. They are milking their fanbase, as does NVIDIA (for fucks sake... NV is selling a midrange GPU for a high-end price since the Kepler generation and you are ok with it). Even if they had a much better architecture (like they did in the past) they would not sell them... Go watch those new videos by AdoredTV, in which he analyses Nvidias and AMDs generations.

Well your card uses an 8-pin connector, not e 6-pin one. You should have a look at that. THere should be a dual molex to PCI-e 8Pin adapter in the package your card came in.

To be honest, AMD graphics are on a cycle of death right now. Sure, he may have some valid points but if he wants AMD to be great again, they would have to push out some seriously competitive GPUs as compared to Nvidia which is pretty much impossible since they are earning so little money as compared to Nvidia which is reinvested in GPU research.

AMD did not reduce the performance of the card, they increased it for that matter. The changed the distribution of the VRMs. Now four of the VCORE VRMs are using the 6-pin for the power delivery and only two of them use the PCI-e slot. They actually increased the performance of the core by like 5-10% from the release via driver updates.

Don´t get the 3GB 1060... just don´t and everyone, who says, you should do so is not right. Get the 470, overclock the core to 1350MHz and the memory to 8GHz and you have 1060 performance with 4GB of memory. 3GB of VRAM is not enough even for 1080p. 4GB are barely enough, with 6-8GB being the sweet-spot (doom 2016, rise of the tomb raider and even shadow of mordor use more than 4GB, with RoTR using almost 6GB).

Some new information regarding the Vega 10 . THE performance should be up to 12TFLOPS of FP32.

The core should feature 4096 stream processors and 16GB of HBM2 Memory.

The TDP should be about 225W.

For what I know... the GPU clock should be around 1,460GHz which would indicate, that VEGA 10 is using an upgraded 14nm FF+ or even TSMCs 16nm  process

Some people don´t even know, what IPC means... let me tell it to you simply, so that you can actually understant. Per core performance=IPC*Clock speed. An i7 6900k @4GHz has the same IPC as an i7 6900k@3.0GHz, but the 4GHz one has better single core perf. because of higher clocks...
