Hi, I previously made a thread talking about my RX 480's poor performance on Minecraft, Although I now have some new information I'd like to give in advance to you replying.

System:
i5 3330
128G SSD
1TB HDD
8G DDR3

BEFORE:
Previously, I had a 750ti, in proportion to the current performance of this RX 480, this card was amazing. I was told the RX 480 would be an upgrade, but it appears it is just making performance worse.

WHAT I'VE TRIED TO DO:
I've uninstalled old Nvidia Drivers.
I installed my RX 480 drivers directly from Nvidia.

TYPE:
The type of 750ti I had was the Twin Frozr 2G OC

The type of RX 480 I have is the MSI Armor 4G OC

Please help!

First of all, did you use DDU to uninstall any previous drivers? And... there are no drivers for the rx 480 on nvidias website. Go to AMDs website and download them from that source. It is possible, that you have used the gtx 480 drivers (a nvidia Fermi card) for your rx480 (AMDs polaris 10 card).

What drivers are you are using? Do you have DSR enabled? What resolution are you using and what are the detailed settings? Did you plug your Monitor to the RX480s video output (I had that happening to some people, they used the ports on their MB instead and were using the iGPU of their CPU). What is your GPU usage and clock speeds? Download the latest drivers from AMD (the 500MB Crimson ReLive driver) boot into safe mode, uninstall all of your drivers and install the ReLive drivers.

Edit: What PSU are you using?

Ermmmm? Nvidia...right, it's not like the RX480 is an AMD gpu... :D

I have the recommended PSU (430W)

I have my monitor plugged into the correct output. I don't know what DSR is? The resolution I am using is 1080p (Allegedly what the RX 480 is supposed to master). The settings aren't detailed. Its all minimum Minecraft specs. The only game that worked well with the card was Doom. Wolfenstein: The New Order, had issues, alongside CS:Go. I have no overclocks on. I'm already using the latest drivers.

Minecraft? You should upgrade your CPU instead of GPU.

WHat is your GPU usage in-game (you should use MSI afterburner for that). What clocks is your card reaching? It should be around 1300MHz, if it only goes to like 300MHz, than your GPU might not be properly supplied by the PSU. In my opinion it is the PSU.

Lemme guess, it's the EVGA 80+ white 430watt? It's crap but shouldn't be the thing causing an issue

Can you try rolling back to pre-relive drivers and see if it changes anything?

Anyway, remember to quote when replying else we won't be notified that you replied to us.

I get a 1053 mhz clock, and a 300mhz memory clock.

Jap... that is the problem, your memory should be at 8000MHz and your core at 1300MHz (or something like that, I don´t really know the correct clock of your MSI card). So, now we know what is causing your bad performance.
