jjar35 got a reaction from Shiv78 in Does screen size effect FPS?
is it possible that your TV is 1080i and not 1080p, in which case it would be slightly easier to run

jjar35 got a reaction from c0d0ps in What type of monitor would be best for me?
Here's my two cents. You have more than enough GPU power to push 1440p @ 60Hz on max. Which means that you could easily push 1080p @ 144Hz. I personally would go with the 1440p @ 60Hz since you're not doing any serious FPS games.

jjar35 reacted to ARikozuM in Does overclocking a CPU reduce the life span?
If done incorrectly and haphazardly, yes.
If done correctly, no. Your CPU will likely be outdated by the time it dies from an overclock.

jjar35 reacted to Zyndo in Should I wait for the gtx 1080ti or get the 1080?
Your monitor. What resolution are you currently playing on? what resolution do you intend to play on? a 980 is plenty for 1080p nowadays if thats all you're doing.

I swear AMD did the same thing last year with a driver but I can remember which one it was since I use nVidia I just remember hearing a lot about it.

X99 is the way to go. Wait for Broadwell-E with better CPUs.

jjar35 reacted to BuckGup in Remove heatsinks from my ram or just buy new ram
Most RAM don't even need these giant heatsinks they put on them. They are mostly for looks

jjar35 reacted to Mira Yurizaki in Remove heatsinks from my ram or just buy new ram
Heat sinks for the most part are pointless on RAM unless it's really high speed RAM. They don't consume enough power to emit a lot of heat.
EDIT: Although a quick Google search shows it consumes around 3W, which isn't a lot of heat anyway even if it was 100% heat (which it's not)

jjar35 reacted to Lotus in Input on a computer I'm planning on building
What's the monitor? Spending $700 (or whatever it's going to cost) is a crapload for a GPU in that build. It's not very balanced, and if you're just going for standard 1080p, you don't need the horsepower.

jjar35 got a reaction from TheKDub in Thats why you don't buy a $35 case
that will take you like maybe 30 minutes. The time to drive to the store return your case and buy a new one. Then drive back home.

jjar35 reacted to Jacona in Open Back Headphones for less than $200
If you can wait for the K 7XX to drop again, then those are a pretty solid choice for 200.
If not, then maybe the ATH-AD900X
