What i'd like to do is just keep my gpu and when/if i decide to buy a 4k monitor i'll get another for sli and then much later upgrade to the 1100 series which is volta I think. Only problem is idk when that's gonna come out. Is it gonna be summer of 2018?

Don't take it to heart. Its just that with the release of the 1000 series it will take WAY LONG to think of the 1100 series. Hence there's no point of discussing about the future of 1100 series when Nvidia has not even released their 1000 series cards.

No one knows... The 1000 series just came out and they haven't even released all of them yet.. As the guy above suggest just buy a 1080. Or go ahead and buy a 980ti to sli with.

They have not even released the 1000 series cards, and you're already asking about the 1100 series if that is in fact what they are going to call them.

I might just sli bc they should go down to 400 maybe 300 dollars in a few months to a year. Also bc the 1080 beats 980 sli and a 980ti isn't very far behind that

Calm down they come out in like a few weeks I only made this to make my mind before there's probably gonna be a big price drop on all 900 series cards soon
