    IMMERSIVE TOMATO? Oh my god.

Meh, again, either wouldn't be terrible. The Fury/X would be much cooler though (in terms of thermal.)

SSDs don't follow conventional wisdom regarding temperature vs life expectancy.

The above chart from Intel shows the relationship between temperature in Celsius and SSD data retention lifespan measured in weeks. Of note this chart is for drives that have already reached or exceeded their rated maximum lifetime writes, so for an Intel 730 240GB that's 91TB of host writes. (Your drive is rated for 72TB for all capacities.) A quick reading of the chart shows us that for maximum NAND longevity we actually want *higher* temperatures (to a point) while the drive is active, but lower temperatures while the drive is off.

Poking around into the Google machine we see that the M500 has a maximum rated operating temperature of 70c, so if that 80c number you're getting is from the SSD (I can't say for certain from your post) then we'll want to verify its accuracy. If you're actually seeing 80c then some variety of heatspreader on the offending chip(s) would be in order. Likely only the controller chip is seeing these elevated temperatures.

For the thermal tape you'll either want to use 3M 8810 or Akasa AK-TT12-80 if you don't want to use a more permanent thermal adhesive like Arctic Alumina's two part paste. (Despite the name it's actually nonconductive.)

they are meant for productivity not for entertainment, if you want that get something else because those two areas are lacking.

instead what they do have, is excellent build quality and excellent keyboard experience. also because they are meant for business they have a docking connecter, which is VERY nice for  users who are on the go but want a  lot of ports and a desktop experience.

good alternatives, are the hp probook or elite book (they are very easy to maintain and have not tried to clone apple)  dell latitudes, Toshiba portege  or the fujitisu  lifebook line, asus has also come out with their new asus PRO series of laptops.

Too many variables to make decent comparison. Temp difference is 5C which between two aftermarket coolers is almost as much as it gets anyway. But yeah, comparing i5 K to i7 non-K. Not really good to make any assumptions.

You do have a more powerful chip that runs a much higher frequency. I am not sure this is a good comparison, not enough to say that the cryorg is that bad. You are also not telling us what cooler it's being compared to or what kind of load it's under. On top of that your temps are lower anyway.

Circs reacted to Glenwing in FAQ: AMD Radeon Fury/R9 390X (Fiji XT)
To cut down on redundant threads I am posting this. This is based only on official information, not on rumors, many of which contradict each other anyway making it pointless to speculate based on them.

AMD R9 390X (Fiji XT) FAQ:

    Q: When will it launch?
A: We don't know the exact date. Sometime soon. (UPDATE: June 16th, 2015)

Q: How much will it cost?
    A: We don't know yet.

    Q: How is the performance?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: How is the power consumption?
A: We don't know yet, but it's expected to be fairly high.

Q: How is the energy efficiency?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: How much heat will it produce?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: How is the stock cooler performance and noise?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: When are non-reference cards going to be available?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: How much will the new HBM memory help overall performance?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: How much will the new HBM memory help overall power consumption?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Will it have 4GB of memory or 8GB?
A: We don't know yet. According to rumors it will have 8GB, but according to rumors it will only have 4GB. Your choice on who to believe. Personally I'm betting on rumors.

Q: Will it support HDMI 2.0?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Will it support DisplayPort 1.3?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: What is the I/O configuration going to be? How many DisplayPort outputs will it have?
    A: We don't know yet.

    Q: Will it overclock well?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Is it going to be awesome?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Will it beat the GTX TITAN X?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Will it beat the GTX 980 Ti?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: Will it beat the GTX 980?
A: We don't KNOW yet, but one can only hope.

Q: Will it beat two GTX 980s?
A: We don't know yet, but probably not.

Q: Should I get the 390X or the TITAN X?
A: Get whichever one is better.

Q: Should I get the 390X or the 980 Ti?
A: Get whichever one is better.

    Q: Which one is better?
    A: We don't know yet.

Q: What if it's 95% the performance of the TITAN X but one tenth the price? Should I still get the "better" TITAN X, huh? Huh??
A: If that makes it a better option in your estimation, then get that. Better doesn't just mean higher performance.

Q: Will it be able to run 4K at 60fps?
    A: Yes.

Q: Sorry, I meant will it be able to average at least 60fps at 4K in modern demanding games at maximum settings?
    A: We don't know yet.

    Q: But can it run-
    A: Yes.

Q: Will it even be called the 390X? I heard a rumor the 390X will just be a rebadged 290X and the Fiji XT cores will be used in a TITAN-style product!
A: We don't know yet. Although the name "390X" is only rumored in the first place so if you think rumors are credible then it seems you have a few options. Believe whatever you want, anything you come up with you'll probably be able to find a rumor to back you up. Or join the rest of the community in being skeptical of all rumors, kicking back our legs, and relaxing while we wait for the card to actually be released.

Q: Should I get the 390X or wait for the 490X?
    A: *sigh*

No, they are compensating for shitty PSUs.  A good 650W is safe, 600 a little scarier, 550, scarier still but should work.

Vram doesn't have anything to do with power.  Two 960's would absolutely outperform a single 4 GB 960.

That said, SLI 960's perform nearly identically to the 970, so it would make more sense to just get the 970.

A single 960 is more than enough for 1080p though for most people.

Def not dual 960 2gb. You still only get 2gb usable. So your adding more power but creating a vram limitation for the extra power.

The GT 740 was a rebadged GT 640/GTX 650. The GTX 760 was based on the GK104 GPU like the GTX 680, 670, 660 Ti, and 770. Just in a slightly different configuration, falling somewhere between the 660 Ti and 670.

The only new GPU in the original 700 series was GK110 in the GTX 780 and 780 Ti. Then later they added the GM107 with the GTX 750 and 750 Ti. AMD did basically the same thing with their 200 series.
