In my opinion you should be looking at a larger upgrade gap rather than just one upgrade bit.

...well, i would argue that this is ALSO a 2 years old+ card!

I've had that for a bit, but then my taste for it came back although it was a bit different.

Bastion, Ori and the Blind Forest, Bioshock Infinite and so on... pretty much any single player which I've completed.
I sometimes replay a game just because it unlocked a hardcore mode(for example Crysis 3).
 
But I usually never touch single player games again after completing them.
Not because I don't want to, but simply because I have soooo many games to play and such a short life to live, and I want to catch 'em all!

Patience is a virtue.
 
Wait until it gets fixed. Most games have bugs on release.
 
And DO NOT click on that pre-order button.

I'm gonna wait for it to get a couple patches before putting any cash towards the game.

i5 is what everyone will recommend.

I feel like it is driver related.

I signed up for the upgrade but would rather do a fresh install at first chance I get.

Without Hyperthreading, it would be an i5-3570. Hyperthreading is what makes an i7 an i7.

I'm always watching youtube, netflix, amazon instant video, Etc. on my 2nd screen with my game volume muted. I rarely listen to any music during games.

you might honestly stick to a TV for gaming if you can, every tv I tried to game on worked just fine. Just make sure to turn off all processing or set it to game/computer mode, and should be perfect. 

I think he said that more in line of "we don't have better graphics because we focused more on new mechanics" instead of "we downgraded the shit out of the game"

I have more then enough games I've started but never finished. Almost all of them I've impulse bought on steam sales. So no new games for me this year.

Only games on my wish list are Black Mesa and Killing Floor 2. Hope they go on sale

How old is your house? Any phone jacks in the room? Newer homes usually have cat5 ran even for phone jacks. It's worth a shot to look before buying something that you might not need.

The only things truly "future proof" are cases, so long as mounting hardware doesn't change. While some hardware can change, for the most part cases can stay the same. ATX is the standard motherboard size, we have 3.5in/ 2.5in drive sizes, and GPU lengths have stayed comfortable at 10-12 inches. PSU's don't typically change size enough for it to matter in an ATX case, and most cases can fit today's hardware. There are always exceptions of course.
