snoopunit got a reaction from Tristerin in Which Ryzen cpu??
I'm actually more concerned with the daily performance difference between 1600/3600 cpus. I understand my 4820k isnt really slow or bad, but I'm having issues with the whole system since the majority of the parts were used when I got them and my system has become more and more unstable as time goes on. I've tried several remedies to isolate the issue, but cant seem to pinpoint the problem.
I've been wanting to upgrade to ddr4/m.2 for a while
Just trying to see if almost doubling my cpu budget would be worth it.

Yes it's possible but most one I've seen are just of the frame or chassis portions as it's more practical. This was a popular one I saw a good while back:

Look, it looks like your PC shows signs of degrading components.
These could be anything from failing power supplies, mainboard capacitors, cooling issues etc.
But as you said, you were unsure about your RAM.
A 36GB configuration is not something strange at all. But if you have doubts about that, it is most certainly a priority to remove any doubt.
After you have made sure your RAM isn't throwing errors, it would be advisable to change out the PSU for a spare one if you have anything laying around. If you don't, than measure stability of the supply lines. If you can't do that, than calculate total use. Most power supplies have a life expactancy anything between 5000 to 12000 hours. Look for swollen capacitors on all components, especially PSU, mainboard.
If the PSU checks out, next thing would be to exchange the mainboard for a new one to rule it out.
If something has been working fine, and is now not as fine as before, it is signs of wear. The one thing that wears out in computers, sometimes faster then expected, are capacitors. I've seen problems like these before and they almost always are cured after a mainboard/psu swap.
My bet is on PSU/mainboard.

I have nothing against "Chinese off-brand" TBH. it's just that i don't usually buy from brands that I've never heard of. That drive you linked actually looks like a really good deal. Thanks

I found the issue, it was a pebkac error. I became too overjoyed with the new build I completely forgot to install the chipset driver I found out this with the help of asus's wonderful support. now I'm rocking over 5ghz.

Just look for an x86 single board computer. It may not come with Windows pre-installed, but it's likely Windows will support it anyway.

Not true. All current CPU's have protections against thermal damage from simply throttling to shutting down completely.

snoopunit reacted to peabody505 in I need help about my Montior (PROBLEM)
Graphical Issue Generic Checklist:
1. Try rebooting.
2. Check the connections between the cable and both your monitor and your PC.
3. Update your graphics drivers.
4. Try a different cable if you can.
5. Try a different monitor if you can.
6. Try a different GPU if you can.
Please let me know if after all this your problem is still present. Also just for the future posting your hardware/driver versions will be helpful for people to diagnose your issue. What kind of monitor/gpu/drivers do you have? Also how long has this issue been going on?

Since it's showing up it's definitely not fried. Worst case scenario those partitions are corrupted and just need to delete and try again

If you actually read up on the lawsuit, you would have known that the company (McDonalds) was purposely brewing their coffee much higher than the recommended temperature to keep up with the extra demand. The lady spilled her coffee in her lap and got 3rd degree burns all over her crotch and thighs. She had to have skin-grafts to replace the burnt off skin.
Not saying it was really worth the payout she got, but definitely worth a pretty penny. There were no caution labels on the coffee at that time either.

@ChineseChef
I think eventually, every car/device will be so interconnected within the system that they won't even need to pull you over and request access to any information. We can already hack into these devices, albeit illegally, so it's only a matter of time before those remote accessibilities become readily available to the authorities, at least in the US.

Not sure how it works in Sweden, but here in US, if your package is seized by customs, you will generally receive a letter from them (customs) directly regarding the situation.
