One you have read the above to tell your feelings. This in an interesting thing I will get when It is available in the uk. @LinusTech Do the Youtubes still get a cut? At $10 a month it will be worth it for that. I hope they expand it in the future. If Linus goes to this I will leave Vessel.

NICE! If you already pay for google play music you get it too. OP you're going to need to expand this before it gets taken down. Personal thoughts and what not.

Not a fan of the "member-only access to new, original shows and movies from some of YouTube's biggest creators." but other than that it sounds sweet.

Do I get it if I got a Google Music subscription or will Google now have a billion different subscription services?

So basically if I have All Access on Google Music I get this for free?

Personally I see all this as another way for Google to rip people off. Just gonna be honest, I always search Youtube with Adblock on because I don't want to support Google. If I want to support someone like LTT I turn off Adblock on their sites and use the Amazon affiliate codes :P

I really have no opinion on the new "Youtube originals" thing other then just being worried that content creators will get greedy and start putting a lot of their stuff on that instead of normal Youtube so I can no longer see it.

EDIT: Johners got it right LOL

Almost guaranteed to pay for it. Honestly I don't mind YT ads to much, unless I'm looking for a quick piece of info thats somewhere in the middle of a video or ads on >30 second videos. Other than that they're including a google play music sub as part of it. https://www.youtube.com/red. Even more so if this does end up supporting content creators more than ads do.

Though one key feature that interests me and can be viewed as being locked behind a paywall is that it also allows background play. So it'll keep playing the video if you change apps or seems like if you lock your phone too, but I'm not completely sure on that since it just says "with your screen off" instead of phone locked. Honestly it is something that should probably not be locked to the subscription. I was interested in this kind feature some months ago and couldn't find anything that would let me use youtube as an audio player with my phone locked, until I manage to discover an app called audio pocket some days later. It doesn't seem to work on a galaxy s5 anymore so this has really garnered my interest.

Exclusive content is also a bit of an iffy feature for them to include.

People are saying RIP Vessel, but honestly, I don't mind it and will continue to use it after the free 12 months run out. Its also cheaper than YouTube Red at only $3 per month instead of $9.99. In my opinion, YT released this too late, it took other companies to light a fire under their ass to get them to do anything.

at least that's a good thing since companies like to compete over who can rip the most people off in the best way nowadays...

Youtube launches Redtube....

wait wut?

I am not sure how porn sites do it, but if Google extended their partner program and streaming services to porn they could probably get a ton of users and content creators very quickly. Not to mention their excellent search capabilities.

What a glorious site that could be... Too bad Google don't want to join the porn industry.

I'll never pay cash for youtube or any other site that has user created content. I pay with my time though a 15-30 sec ad. Im not going to be sheep and pay cash to watch youtube. I hope that this doesnt change how youtube works in the future. And for anyone that is willing to pay $10 a month to youtube, why? Its just feeding corporate greed. Im starting to think that kids now a days have no sense of value when it comes to the dollar.

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3

Watching ads contributes to their wallets too. Being hypocritical is not a very good attribute when talking about corporate greed... Unless of course you ARE the greedy corporation.

You sound kind of childish here... Watching ads is a lot better then giving them $10 a month plus he gets to support the content creators too. Unless you work for Google or something what was the point of attacking him like that? :/

Since I already pay a Google Play Music subscription, I believe I should be happy that Youtube Red will be a part of it eventually. I'm mostly interested in Offline Playback to be honest. The idea of ad-free is interesting but I am using Adblock for the moment. I suppose that if I use Adblock but pays the content creators through a Youtube Red subcription, this makes me an OK person now :)
