Lepa is now trying to rival SuperFlower!. TechPowerUp reviews their new 1700W 80+ Platinum PSU

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/LEPA/P1700-MA/

They have reviewed Lepa's new 1700W PSU. i still dont think that it is as good as the SuperFlower 2000w that TechPowerUp had reviewed earlier, as did KitGuru.

Well at least US mains circuits can run these things.

Here is a pic of the unit:

Wow... I would not waste money on this PSU if I wanted something around that wattage. There are definitely better options. The fan noise is ridiculous.

How can we fully use a 1700W PSU again ?

you can, better be 15 amp or higher, 20 amps would be best. It will be the only thing to run on the circuit lol.

The $50K+ build I had planned out. It used well over 1.6KW.

Or just stock-it depends on the other components. (Though 4x R9 290X 8GB.....)

I would prefer 4 R9 295X2 ... Or even 4 Fiji cards ...

Well u can only have 2 295X2 cards, since they both total to 4 GPUs

Under DX 12 you could have 4 theoretically, though good luck with the radiator placement.

No its more of an architecture limitation (i think)

I know that 4 dual GPU pascal cards can be run in 8-way SLI

Remember DX 12 only sees general GPU resources. It doesn't care which architecture anything is as long as it's DX 12 compliant. Split-frame rendering would allow 8-way XFire and dual graphics if you have enough cards to pull it off.

True, but nvidia most likely wont add support until Pascal

What's your point? Maxwell is DX 12 tier 2, and the 295x2 is already tier 3 compliant.

The "only two twin-GPU cards" limit only applies if you are using them in CrossFire/SLI (in DX11) :)

You can have as many as you want, but you'd be limited to having 2 cards max in Crossfire.

It would need 94+% efficiency on 15 amps, 20 amps is the only way you could max out the breaker before the psu.
